Our local store were telling people couldn't use point coupons today.

After a discussion, we went to the Mayflower store. It was all a rather sedate affair, not at all what I was expecting.
Although its a quiet store, it would never occur to me to stop there unless I needed something from Mothercare next door.

Got some nice bits I had eyed up, 2x Sanctuary Spa sets with the lovely white lily and damask rose products, a Reiss set, a No7 nail polish set (only No7 I saw) plus a French Connection lip kit. I forgot to use my double points and threshold spend coupons though :wall:

I did get chatting to one lady who said she had been looking for the big No7 gifts so I did tell her as far as I was aware these weren't going in the sale and would prob be rolled out for valentines from what I could recall on the internet (as I wasn't interested in them anyway I haven't paid that much attention). Its actually the conversations like that I like rather than the sale itself I think - just chatting to someone and having a laugh.

  • Not sure why some stores were saying you couldnt use points offers - i preloaded mine via the app and they came up on the till as he asked me if I'd like to collect the points! Between myself and my mum and points offers I earned 1000 points, even better bonus!

Well debated if worth going this year but the lure of the 70% sale got the better of me. Visited my not quite so local large store and it was all good. Queue had about 40 people in it but what attracted me to this store was the fact that the sale items were placed around the store. the majority was upstairs however scattered around the ground floor was 4 fairly large areas filled with mixed sale items. This was great no pushing or shoving and everyone seemed pleased with what they had. I thought this years 70% was not as good as years ago however I only went for some nice male toiletries and was pleased with my haul.

Just to add I left the store at 10am and there was still plenty left however the large gift boxes seemed to be sold out but loads of S&G bits left. Is it me or is S&G not so popular anymore.
  • I went to a smallish store on a retail park. arrived at 8.35 for doors opening at 9. I would have been first in the queue but decided to sit in the car for a bit. I joined the queue when there was already 5 in it. Got chatting to two lovely ladies behind me so we discussed what we were looking for and then made a plan to help each other get what we wanted. I had done a reccy on Tues and one of the ladies had been on Wed. Managed to get Soap & Glory star gift (tin) and Sanctuary star shaped gift which are the only things I wanted. Staff were only letting people buy 6 of any one item which I was pleased about seeing as that's all I'm allowed when I buy full price stuff!!

All in all - civilised by most apart from a chav type couple with a buggy who managed to take 10 Soap & Glory tin sets. I just hope that staff took 4 off them at the till BUT because they were 2 people they could have got round it by buying 5 each I suppose.

By 9.30 I'd paid, put my stuff in the car and me & my husband had helped the other two ladies carry their stuff to their respective cars.

Same time, same place next year - or will we???????

Woke up and couldn't be bothered to get down there mega early :rotfl: so subsequently by the time I got there a lot of stuff had gone but I got a few things and 3 packs of nice Xmas cards to stash for next year! When I paid the checkout woman said people were queuing from 7:30 and literally sprinted down the shop knocking over make up stands as they went!! Quite glad I wasn't there!

No baskets left so had to struggle for a Starbucks set, champneys tin, little set of sanctuary stuff and large berry trifle Yankee candle.

I wanted a Yankee as they are increasing the price these days.

Seen a woman with a pram on local transport shaking the prams like mad I thought Jesus the baby. I saw her again in boots using it as a basket. Leaving it in the aisle blocking people offs

I'm going back after work when it's calmed down to see if there's anything lefts

  • Haha I got a Sanctuary star gift, for myself only to find it was an expensive EMPTY BOX when I got home! Good job it wasn't for a present, there would have been red faces all round if I had given that

    I wasn't looking for anything in particular but popped to store at lunch there to see how it was going;

Belfast Boucher decimated. Only a few Starbucks espresso sets, Jack Wills stationary, Seventeen Make Up and Zoella keychains left.

The smaller Park Centre store only had the £40 Seventeen set left.

Glad I wasn't looking for anything this year.
