I,ve just arrived in town, it's about 10 mins before store opens and so far there are far fewer people than normal waiting at the door0

Staff coming out the shop with stuff. I know staff allowed to get stuff but it looks like these staff members aren't working that day. If they aren't working they should queue up like the rest of us.
I don't mind those who are working early on.Mortgage free wannabe

I've never done one of these Boots sales but one of my ex-students is the manager of the local store. I saw her this morning in Starbucks and she invited me in while the staff were picking though the best stuff and I got a good haul set aside for when the shop opens.
You know when you ebay this stuff do you wait for a bit? Like a month?0 -
Be-jings.
I've headed up to this store before work for the past 5 years during 70% off day... never been more than a dozen or so in the queue.
Generally its not a great store in terms of stock, lucky if two aisles are set aside, but it's only one that opens at 8am.
Strolled up today as usual, 5 mins before opening time - queue of 100+ people!!! A fair few empty trollies to hand too.
I didn't stick around to watch the bedlam... about turned and went to work. I only go to pick up 3 x large sets for mum and sisters' Christmas... time to re-think this year's gift
Good luck everyone!0 -

Its people that buy the stuff to Ebay that spoils it for genuine bargain hunters.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Competitions Time, Shopping & Freebies boards, Employment, Jobseeking & Training boards If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. In queues at 8.20, approximately 40 ahead of me. Got everything I wanted apart from the Jack Wills backpack, and a very nice lady even let me ahead of her in the queue to pay, as my arms obviously looked like they couldn't cope! Horrendous queue to pay by the time I left at 8.40.
All done and dusted for another year :j0 -
its got nothing to do with brexit at all
the fact is every year stock allocations are getting better and better hence less and less items not being in the sale
also stores are now able to easily move stock between stores that sell the stock easier.
also remember boots are a business there primary goal is to make money not please people who wants lots in a 70 percent sale0 -
After a discussion, we went to the Mayflower store. It was all a rather sedate affair, not at all what I was expecting.
There was one woman who came in with a trolley and was pretty much just shoving it along whiles swiping the shelves but we were lucky to get in there about 8:45 so beat her to what we wanted.
We got a good little amount of presents and with various points coupons managed to effectively save another £12-odd.
The checkout lady said it had been quite busy but relaxed - but she expected the bigger stores like Basildon or lakeside to be chaotic x0
