All very civilised in Whetstone, North London, I got the few bits I wanted. I left the store at 8.50am and it was starting to get busier. :j
  • St Albans store was brilliant. Never seen so much stuff!

Popped into my local, got there just after the doors had opened as I was having trouble parking. Only a couple of aisles of stuff but OMG, trying to get up and down the main one - people there with those basket trollys trying to shove them through. I had a basket for a few bits and am genuinely sorry for anyone I bashed with it, it wasn't intentional I just had absolutely no where to move to.

Usual thing of a number of people with several of those blue basket things crammed with items and poor bewildered men at the end just looking dazed. A good few people who had clearly just grabbed stuff and then were sorting it out at the end of the aisles (not sure if it was to decide what that actually wanted or trying to figure out how on earth they were going to carry it out of the store!) Massive queue upstairs at the till....not many people having the nous to to think of going downstairs to the four virtually empty checkouts.

All in all it was relatively good natured, I had already got what I really wanted at 50% and none of those items bar one were on the shelves so I was happy with that. Got a few other bits for potential gifts coming to the grand total of £10.50. Last of the big spenders me!

  • Got a good friend to pop into a different Glasgow store on the off chance on her way to work.

She is currently in Buchanan Galleries, Glasgow which has been open for an hour and picked up 3 x Ted star gifts (£15), 2 x Jack Wills scarf sets (£15) and 1 x Sanctuary star gift set (£13.50).

No mad crowds and a lot still on shelves.

Xmas 2017 pressies are back on their list.

  • Popped in to Boots on my way to work, it was very busy in my local store, I got in 8.45 and there were people huddled in groups with 3/4 large shopping bags EACH filled with stuff blocking aisles and the queue upstairs where the sale stuff were was massive. As I am expecting a baby this year I bought alot of mini club clothes but it was confusing at the till as some items were still 50% off some 70% off and some still full price but there were no tickets/stickers to say which were which. Hopefully I won't need to buy ANY baby clothes for the rest of 2017!

My teenagers running late this morning and wanting lifts, made it so I only got to store after it opened. Still not too bad, as I entered from the opposite side and floor to where the gifts are and everyone queues, so able to grab a basket and up the escalator that fetched me out at the end of a bay. Picked several items up, including some I'd not noticed before. I'd not long put some Zoella pencils in my basket (daughter is a fan) when I saw a Zoella rucksack on the floor in front of me. I'd toyed with the idea of buying one but wasn't sure it was worth it. Decided this was a 'sign' for me to pick it up off the floor and decide later. When I eventually got round to that display they'd all gone so I kept mine.

I then popped to my very small Boots in the town centre, which I hadn't given any thought to, they had less thana dozen items left, but picked up some Jack Wills lip sets.

I then looked round town, clear in my mind that I could make it to the next Boots that I drive past on my way home ready for its 10am opening. I was positive thais was acheivable as I'd visited both stores last year. Only when I got there, I'd got it wrong and it was 9am opening. Ooopps:o When I thought about it more, I realised I'd only bought a couple of bits last year in the bigger Boots so hadn't stopped as long. Meant I missed out on some items they were still carrying in stock and the other weren't but hey ho, still picked some things up.

Last year I went with very specific things in mind and only bought for Christmas presents. This year has been more 'scatter gun' but am confident have items for birthdays, xmas, dd's friends etc.

Hope everyone has bagged a bargain.

Very busy at Grimsby freshney place and they're still bringing stuff out from the back
  • Cannock was busy, but well stocked and I managed to get most of Christmas sorted.
It really want helped by the woman with a toddler in a buggy who was blocking half the narrow aisle off though.

    Hi all,
Well I ventured out to the sale this morning, one of the out of town stores in Glasgow. I got there at a couple of minutes before 9am and there were maybe 50 people waiting outside for the doors to open. So many trolleys, not just the half sized ones, the full sized ones too, borrowed from the nearby Tesco. These were being piled high by many people working together. I also saw a lady with loads of the French Connection lip kits in her trolley, who then had them taken from her by a member of staff, and put back on the shelves!

There were loads of the Ted Baker treasure chests, Sanctuary star gifts and S&G cases! I've never seen S&G star gifts at 50% off never mind 70% off!

Got some nice bits I had eyed up, 2x Sanctuary Spa sets with the lovely white lily and damask rose products, a Reiss set, a No7 nail polish set (only No7 I saw) plus a French Connection lip kit. I forgot to use my double points and threshold spend coupons though :wall:
