Boots Sale

I called into my local Boots on the way home from taking the kids to school. I needed to go there anywhere to get something and it's on the way back. I got there just as the doors were opening and there were a few people outside. As soon as the doors opened a load of women started grabbing at stuff on the shelf - one lady asked if everything was 70% off and an assistant said she would check on the till. It wasn't.

This poor woman was then shouted at with phrases like "but it's ALWAYS the 3rd Weds after Christmas" and "well obviously you've made a mistake" and frankly the way she was being spoken to by the customers was nothing short of disgusting. She very politely told them that they didn't know when the 70% off sale was starting and that they only find out when they come in that morning. How she kept her calm and remained polite I have no idea.

If anyone reading this happens to be one of the barrage of people shouting at that poor shop assistant in the Westcroft Store in Milton Keynes this morning then you should be bloody ashamed of yourself.

I'm all for getting bargains but no store assistant should have to put up with being spoken to like that

I have a Boots staff discount card and still do all my shopping at Superdrug, it's cheaper :rotfl:

Boots is an American company now (listed as WBA on NASDAQ), so maybe Donald Trump knows when the 70% sale is.

That doesn't make fiscal sense for Boots... They will sell at 50% this weekend after all the hype as people will fear sell out before 70%. Boots are notoriously tight so just can't see them selling cheaply when they don't have to and epos all has to be changed prior to the weekend to facilitate a sale.

Too right! It doesn't matter how cheap something is, bargain hunting should never involve pushing/shoving and being rude to people just doing their jobs. That's just a step too far for me.

If people spoke to the staff in my local Boots and the management heard them they would be banned from the store, I've seen people get asked/told to leave for being abusive.

Glad I didn't go up to Boots this morn :rotfl: but I would've liked to have seen people standing in the queue and rushing in for nothing..!! Hate it when theres no sale and people don't believe you. Used to work for M&S and same thing happened a couple of times, a woman said "Well you OBVIOUSLY need to speak to a superior as we expect a SALE!" :rotfl: dontcha love retail
