Unfortunately a lot of stores don't have extra staff they can pull in for the promo change the night before like previous years. Most shops haven't had any Christmas temps this year.

Disappointed to see MSE splashing all of this on their FB feed just to try and grab headlines. Not checked the newsletter yet but if it's in there too then I'm definitely giving it a 'joy killer alert'.

My friend rang at 8.30 to say there was a queue outside our store! One lady said it was definitely on as she read it online last night!!!! She is ringing me back once the doors are open and she has been in and witnessed the situation for herself!


Editing to add she has been in and its definitely not on!!!! What a debacle!

My boots store opens at 8, open as usual... no 70%....

Two years ago I was in my Boots on the Wednesday before the 70% sale week. Staff were having to deal with irate aggressive customers who insisted that they had seen an online announcement of the sale for that day.

What they had seen was the usual speculation on here. It's not fun any more. I do miss the days of the old Boots gang on here, but I can't be bothered with the greed and rudeness of what the sale has become.

Has anyone else picked up on the statement Boots have given to MSE to say it won't be 'in the next 48 hours' ?
Makes me think maybe Friday 13th?!
They could have said 'not this week' if it was planned for next Wednesday? What would I know! All speculation as per....!

If I worked in Boots management it would give me great pleasure to wind up MSE.
