So It's taken me completely by surprise this year, I fully expected it to be today right up until early yesterday afternoon.

So..... Do we think it's likely to be another week on the 18th (seems rather late to me, though I know it has been that late in the past due to the day of the week Christmas fell), or will they go for a 'random' day???

I never believed it would be today. It's never been earlier than the 13th. I have family birthdays on both the 9th and 10th of Jan and have never thought drat just missed by a day or two for getting a 70% off present, it's always been a few days later at the earliest and sometimes a week later. I know a lot of people are fond of saying it's the 3rd Wednesday after Christmas, but that doesn't always work out as the recently amended spreadsheet acknowledges.

Am not convinced by the it'll be on a different day due to extra workload. That sounds like the wistful wish of the store staff, bit like when I hope my employer is going to change the date of the annual stocktake from the last working day of the year and remain hopeful right up till the last minute when I realise it's going ahead.:D

Yeah, I agree with the workload theory, they can get extra staff in the night before to get the promo change out of the way if needed.
I personally would prefer it to be next Wednesday now rather than any other day, hope they don't take me by surprise!

so guys are we thinking 18th or a different day from a Wednesday wish I knew as I need to do a wee bit of organising to get myself there , whats your thoughts?

looks like it will be now.

they have a lot of stock so maybe they are trying to get as much sold at 50% first
