I predicted today a year ago so had annual leave. However I luckily looked on here last night went with Stork and avoided a wasted early start!
Glad I did - Super drug had some great bargains (3 x Adidas bath sets for 99p each & 1 x starwars bathset for 99p)
Wilko's also had their Christmas stock with 75% off from 9am this morning. Minions bathsets £1.12, shopkins bubble bath £1.25, Maybelline cheek and lip tint set of 3 for £2....I filled a shopping bag :-)

Having partaken in the boots 75% & 70% sales for many years, I am realising if you are a savvy shopper, you can normally get just as good items elsewhere for much lower prices.

Boots still 50% off at Castlepoint, Bournemouth today at 4.30pm. Could not believe how much stuff they had left, just like M&S. Not worth paying for IMHO, no matter how cheap! 0_0

I did look in Wilkos today, but there was nothing other than a few decs and xmas napkins at ours. I swung by Superdrug last week and picked up a few hand lotion sets for 49p each (nice stocking fillers) and I had a delivery from Body Shop this afternoon (50% off plus a 20% off code from the voucher code thread on here). So I'm spreading my bargain shopping about a bit. The rellies do like their champneys/sanctuary sets though so I won't be ditching the Boots sale any time soon :D
  • Do we think it is likely to be a Wednesday? I popped into boots this afternoon to get some toiletries and heard a lady asking about the sale as she had hoped to get a gift set today and the sales assistant said "have a look tomorrow" this could have been a line to brush her off but they could have changed the days up slightly. Boots staff must know surely, understandably they are keeping quiet though. I guess they don't want to lose their job

I too agree that there should be a limit on the number of items you can buy. It's sad and disgusting that perople feel it necessary to physically fight over a box of toiletries, and don't tell me it's because these people are so hard up it's the only time they can afford anything like that....I see the same people trying to flog the sets st cat boots.

    Manners cost nothing.

My local store NEVER let me buy more than 6 of any one item when they are full price. NEVER. EVER. So it annoys me so much when the same store let people swipe stuff off the shelves in the sale and have more than 6 of the same item and they are allowed to do it. However, I'm ready to challenge the store this year if I see it happening. Probably cause a riot amongst the people who are swiping shelves, I could get lynched!! Rules are rules and we should all be treated the same.

I also changed my shift after predicting last Jan it would start today but obviously it didn't pan out as expected, I certainly wasn't going to rush out this morning on the off chance.
Still managed a productive morning of appointments & ticking things off in the absence of the sale so worked out well either way.

Completely agree, there are great bargains elsewhere if you're in the right place at the right time. I got a few things from Wilko's 75% off the other day that were an absolute steal. Have had stuff from Sainsbury's & Waitrose that were a snip of the original price too.

Boots are massively inflated prices to start off with and it doesn't feel as big a bargain as what it did in the 75% off days but I do like their stuff so get sucked into it without fail every year....
