My diet has been shocking for a while now! I think i have more or less given up with it for this year and will start again next where the easy temptations should have hopefully vanished with everybody else doing it!

    My numbers for this week.....
Walked: 60.3. Last time I did a >60 was back in March!
    Total: 1881.4.
    Left: 118.6.

If I want to finish in 3 weeks then I need to do 39.5ish per week which is a really good number to be at.

Will aim for another good week next week - around the 50 mark, after that I am into a busy period at work moving a load of staff around after an office refurb!

Will update with my mileage total tomorrow, getting quite a big week this week in terms of mileage, but today I took a late decision, to plod around Winter Hill and Rivington. Bit iffy towards the end where it started to rain and I lost light rapidly whilst still up near the Pike going back towards the barn (in fact, completely lost light towards the end of the gardens, good job I know my way around!) but enjoyed it and was a different experience being so cold and snow covered! Been a while since I went up.. Some pics from the walk:

If the weather is good, chances are I will go up again next Sat (morning walk rather than afternoon... dont want to be walking around in the dark again!)

Looks lovely! I'd actually rather see those photos than blue sky and sand types. I've never actually been up there, no excuse really as one of my main customers was in Lostock for years ( just moved to that new industrial park, junction 4 on the 61).

    This weeks numbers are:

    18.88 km (roughly 12 miles)

Had company meetings, tummy ache and a neighbours funeral so pre-occupied this week.

My diet has been poor this week too (trifle, cakes, chocolate, crisps and fizzy pop all being consumed).

    Hayho I'm only human

    Keep moving :j

You get weeks like that ( or months in my case:()

1826, think I'll just scrape my goal of 2017. It's getting really busy at work now and will be until a few days before Xmas. Can't wait for the break!

I’m still out of action with this, now at six weeks and counting. Until yesterday I haven’t even worn my Fitbit while recovering so the limited walking I have done hasn’t been counted. It’s so frustrating getting so close to target and knowing I can’t finish. I need to do 8.8 miles a day right up until December 31st to hit 2000 miles and right now I’m struggling with 1 mile a day. Even with physio starting this week I’m not going to be up to the level needed to finish. I can’t quite believe I’ve got so close yet still so far with the challenge.
  • Im guessing you are out of plaster now Fosterdog? Are you still in pain with it?

Isnt it amazing how quick your fitness levels drop when out of action?

My cough that started with a cold a month and a half ago is only just coming to an end but I now have what feels like a sore lung or pulled muscle under left breast. It hurts when I cough or breathe in deeply so am back at the docs on Thursday.

My fitness levels have nose dived and Im not likely to reach target.

Not the end of the world but it has taught me if I do this next year.......I need to get a few miles ahead of myself to allow for illness.
    Make £10 a Day Feb .....£75.... March... £65......April...£90.....May £20.....June £35.......July £60

Very frustrating for you both:(. You do both know that it is achievable as long as illness/injury doesn't creep in and you will recover fitness quicker once you are both back to full wallking speed.

Look at it this way, you aced the 1000 mile challenge:D

Yes I’m out of plaster, had one of the space boots on for a couple of weeks but that comes off this week when my physio starts. Thankfully through the whole process I’ve had minimal pain while I’m still, it’s only movement that causes the pain, and even that has eased a lot as time has gone on. The fracture has actually healed well but there is also ligament damage which is taking longer and I still have some swelling and loss of movement and can’t put weight on my heel, or at least not my full weight while stood still and no weight while moving.

I hope you feel better soon, we work so hard towards things like this for something so simple to come along and ruin it all.

Thanks bugslet, you are right I do at least know that if it wasn’t for this I was well on track to hit the goal and hopefully it won’t be too long until I can get back into it, hoping to ease into it this week and gradually build back up again.

agree - its a shame BUT on the flip side if you take what you have done already, its still a great achievement none the less, especially if you were on track.

If it was me now, I would take that as a win, scrap the rest of the year to fully recover and start again next year!
  • 32.56 miles to add for the past week. :D

You aren't too far behind Barney, a good push and you can crack it!

My current mileage is 1836, so a very small buffer. I'm hoping being off over Xmas will mean |I can have a strong finish.
