Spent yesterday morning trawling furniture shops, my neighbour looking for a new settee, first she wanted a chaise, then she decided on recliner, then she vetoed leather, came home and last night she bought from Argos,
popped in a couple of other shops, didn`t see anything I wanted didn`t open my purse once.
Do I need it or just want it.

Updated signature. Appear to be on target this month - could be to down to buying less wine. When I was totting up my receipts yesterday there was one week when I "popped" into Moreasons three nights on my way home to buy "stuff". I seem to have that under control now - I have stopped going past!!. Hopefully I will keep it up - 8 days to pay day!

Hi All, just a quick update as finding it very hard to keep up with the thread! I have a spare few minutes now so will have a read but just to update, I am on £283 out of £450 for this month. I have one 'big shop' left this month and they are coming in at £60-£70 so hopefully I should be well within budget (we'll see!!). Am only shopping at A!di and if they don't have it, we go without. Less trips to local shop and still not drinking alcohol, which seems to be making a big difference!!

    Have a good day x

NSD yesterday, but a couple of bits today at £land and SB as needed my weekly bits for work ( hot chocolate sachets, chewing gum) and we were out of teabags so bought a couple in and banana for lunches as had no fruit left and wanted to not do a 'big' shop today. So total spend was £4.90.

Tomorrow or Weds will do my top up of fresh stuff at Aldi's which will/should last me till the end of the month- 1 week to go. Unless I succumb to wine later in the week

It's really interesting doing this and realising what my money goes on ( lots of cat food )

  • Spent £2.55 today. £1.50 on eggs from a neighbour and £1.05 on milk from the village shop as we ran out today and I don't want to go shopping just yet. Today's been a horrible day and it's not going to get any better throughout the week, or any time soon. Still under budget so that's something

Just over a week to go to the end of the month. I'm well within budget and that is a first for me. I normally have very little self control where food shopping is concerned but I can see the end of the month and I'm determined my final spends will be under £100.

The only hiccup I may have is that on the last day I have people here for lunch so I may have to be a little creative - I was thinking of cream of Jerusalem artichoke soup as it is a little unusual and I'm pretty sure I have everything except the cream, bread rolls and decent butter. I can make a cake for afterwards, thinking about chocolate fudge cake as I can use up the extra cream.
