Main shop done today and still not too bad on the spends. Need to be a little inventive with the foods in the freezer as I still have half a drawer of unidentifiable meats.Just getting in on this!My budget for the month is £80 for two adults (we are on a mega strict budget because of a house move).
This budget just includes food - I budget separately for toiletries and household stuff.
We have spent £64.59 so far but this includes a mega stock up and the freezer is full of food. We have been sticking successfully to this budget for a couple of months and as I am sure you find too it is all about the meal plan.
That's really impressive would love to see your meal plan.Slimming World at target0 -

I just clicked on the double-bubble symbol for both of you and then the ordinary quote symbol and your two contributions were there.

oh dear, I've splurged again this month.
I made the mistake of popping into lidles for some cruspies (my soul was craving them) and spent £23.11 on yellow (well orange) sticker goodies. the upside is that I have enough meat for weeks but my freezer was hardly empty.
then the next day I popped into morries for some veggies and bits and dad needed coffee, so another £32.54 spent.
will need to be frugal the rest of the month I think, only have about £50 left of budget0 -

I spent nothing on food today- yay!
I've started to work through the freezer this evening and made a mustard and maple syrup sauce to go with the pork loin steaks I found. I did mash with the remains of an old bag of potatoes (which I'd usually have thrown away) and peas from the freezer so I'm feeling quite pleased with myself.
Thanks for your suggestions on using leftover egg yolks- I went for lime curd in the end. It was my first time attempting a curd but I had some limes left over from Christmas and thought it felt a bit decadent so I don't feel too deprived starting my challenge. Much cheaper than the Tiptree version.

Snowing quite heavy here, that makes it easier to decide NO SHOPPING. This will be my third week so only one more to go and that's a whole month. Determined now to do it, its an absolute first for me to go so long , cant quite believe it really.Slimming World at target0
