I suppose that it's that same parasitic DVLA lot who insist that we have insurance for our cars. Why can't they leave we good upright citizens alone?

or put a reminder sticker somewhere in your car!!!!. It's easier than ever to tax your car. I have two I am responsible for and manage it quite easily.

For those that complain about being treated badly for "forgetting"how would you suggest the DVLA differentiate between those who "forget" and those who deliberately evade payment?
I am sure many manage to keep up with their Sky TV subscriptions. It's about priorities,

Another example of a lack of personal responsibility taken by people these days, it's not my fault guv, it's someone else's!

Exactly if these adults are so forgetful, then do they manage to insure their car and get MOTs?

Either they are driving around without insurance and therefore a risk for the rest of us, or they actually can remember a once a year commitment when they try and it's just a pretence to not remember tax.

VED on fuel is fine as only vehicle users will ever pay it but TV Licence on council tax would penalise people who have absolutely no interest in watching tv.

Realistically, how many people don't actually watch tv? 1%? There's nothing stopping people applying for it to be exempted from their council tax either, you've already got things like single persons discounts.

Plus, once you drop all the overhead associated with TV licensing admin, you can probably knock a substantial amount off; maybe 1/3rd?

And the general public are appalled by tax evasion, which this is.

Except it appears that in the majority of cases it's not deliberate evasion, it's either been a missed reminded or misunderstanding or administrative error.

Exactly. That same DVLA parasitic organisation that sells your personal details to a rogue industry (PPCs). That same DVLA parasitic organisation that still charges a premium for using a credit card when it doesn't now cost them any extra. That same DVLA parasitic organisation that ties you up in knots if you try to get some sense out of them on the phone.... etc, etc, etc, I could go on ......

They are paragons of virtue I can hear many say. No they're not, they are a bunch of indolent sloths.

    Bob.

Since you seem to have significant issues with most public bodies, the Government in general, and being governed, why do you stay in the UK?

Maybe you should consider relocation to somewhere you can live a less controlled life? I hear Pripyat is nice this time of year.
