Personally, I've always found the discussion on this forum to be pretty reasonable. I don't see the hate-filled posts you are talking about!
People obviously have different opinions but that's life.0 -

I agree. Supposedly the unacceptable posts are deleted, but it is curious why some people get PPR'd and others do not.
Does anyone know if people who are PPR'd have to apply to have the ban lifted or does it just happen?Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.0 -
It's very revealing about peoples character when they attach "tard" to words describing people they hate. They are in effect insulting people who are mentally !!!!!!, by casually appending "tard" to any group they want to insult. And yet they are almost always the kind of person who view themselves as some kind of saint who would never take the p*ss out of the physically or mentally disabled.
(Not aimed at you, as it wasn't you who coined that expression).
Are you serious? The term used is Brexit with the suffix -ard not Brexi with the suffix -tard
-ard is used to form a noun, usually referring to a person who does something to excess such as "drunkard" or "laggard". I grant you this is usually done in a perjorative way but the idea that it is connected to mental illness a fanciful interpretation.
It also seems a bit rich for you to complain about Brexitard when you use the term Remoaner!:):)
I quite like this:

Good luck convincing anybody that's how it was intended. Did you not notice the person who used it has already apologized for it's offensiveness?

So when exactly did I use that expression then?0 -

The incessant use of inflammatory language though in some threads here can only be described as hate speech.
Now there may be a place for such things to be posted but TBH this forum should not be one of them.
The other day, Conrad advocates putting refugees in concentration camps in the Moroccon desert.

And you even thanked it. :rotfl:Don't blame me, I voted Remain.0 -

You have added your own little bit of spice to what Conrad said, you have added the word "concentration" whereas you could have used many different words eg holding, refugee, reception etc without the connotation that you are setting out to achieve!0 -

I can't imagine that the Posters using the term would be happy with you down-playing it.
I thought the term had the same derivation as the previous "Freetard" (a derogatory term for someone who prefers free software and other content). Retard is (unfortunately) a common, if childish insult in US English.
Remoaner seems rather more accurate and rather less derogatory than Brexitard (no matter what its derivation).0 -
I'm not a fan of either 'remoaner' or 'brexitard' and feel that both are insulting and lazy.
Not that it matters a great deal.0 -
This funny new video is a neat summing up of the intolerance and nasty anger found in modern 'liberals' that claim the tolerance crown, lol;

No I did not notice it (where?)
Not that it matters, unless you can show that your interpretation is any more correct than mine.So when exactly did I use that expression then?
I cannot recall, so if you did not use it, my apologies!Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.0
