Will Brexit really be good for Britain?

we are NET contributors : one of the largest
Yes, and we are also one of the most developed countries in the EU, with one of the highest GDPs and highest average incomes.
Regions of the UK that need EU funding are still getting it though, voted themselves into a situation where they probably won't continue getting it, and are now complaining about it.💙💛 💔0 -

You are correct, once we leave the regions you talk about will lose their EU funding but i am extremely confident that our current government will ensure that they are more than compensated from the money that would have gone from us, to the EU, then back to those regions...

That's fine, until investment that would be in the UK no longer is (capital flight), unemployment rises as a result of that capital flight, etc etc.
I'm convinced that there will be a strong initial shock after A50, especially if banks move/business lending dries up significantly, and how long this would take to recover is unknown.
Unless we stay in the common market, there won't be 'business as usual' for everyone, and again, exactly what would happen as a result of this is unknown.
I really do admire your dedication to leaving the EU/Common Market, but I feel that you're extremely naive if you don't recognise the risk that this path would be taking.💙💛 💔0 -

Really - what gives you that confidence? UK Governments of all colours for decades have neglected the NE and other poor regions. The Tories know that there are no votes to be had there and Labour know that they will vote from them regardless.
Besides, I thought all of the "Brexit Bonus" money was going to be spent on the NHS...0 -

Firstly i have been a Labour voter all my life, No More. Never ever believed i would say the words but the Tories policies better suit me....
I never once heard anyone promise that all the money saved from brexit would go on the NHS and don't believe anyone did..."I want to die peacefully in my sleep like my grandfather, not screaming in terror like his passengers."0 -

Im a simple person, i voted for brexit..
I do agree that this path will be difficult, there may even be bumps along the way, but i will grasp every opportunity and work harder than ever because we will make it work. I have faith in my country and countrymen..."I want to die peacefully in my sleep like my grandfather, not screaming in terror like his passengers."0 -

ok you give me 100k and I guarantee to spend about 20% on areas near you that need help
obvious I want those people to know the money comes from Clapton and will be net of essential costs (communications, data gathering , project evaluation, essential onsite analysis, clapton self aggrandisement etc etc)
I expect the money by return
I further guarantee to demand the £100k year after year for eternity obviously increasing as I see fit.0 -
Britain has prospered in the EU. Brexiteers long for us to return to our Sick Man status.

That, I appreciate, but you're not in a position where you're tied into multi-year contracts (longest currently runs until 2021) with long standing EU clients that you're hoping will be renewed again.ok you give me 100k and I guarantee to spend about 20% on areas near you that need help

That's fine, but will you give me tarriff free access to sell whatever I want to sell elsewhere in this agreement in exchange for the £100k?
This is where, for businesses/businesspeople at first, the real economic benefit kicks in, and then should in theory trickle down the food chain to everyone else💙💛 💔0 -

Why?
Its good you recognise the huge success of the UK.
The success of the UK was entirely due to the tories and the neo tories under Blair and Brown and it spite of the protectioist EU which hammer many developing countries
Something we can both jointly celebrate.
However the future has a dark shadow over it in the form of the trotskyites that are rising in the unions and loony left.
We need to be flexible and vigilant but jointly and with brexit we can defeat them.
Lets work together for a better future0
