Good morning ladies - had a funny old night with strange dreams (Natty turned up on my doorstep having run away from home ) and woke up really early to make sure I was able to wake up the dogs before BoyPup had a seizure in his shifting sleep stage.

Stressing over too much. Must stop.

Love the idea of culling Christmas presents. Definitely going to employ that next year.

Brain in a fog, so off for a cuppa.

    Hugs all round xxx

Valli- you have given me conflicting emotions with the list today....I'm scared at the thought of someone getting you the Mrs B book whilst giggling at the indigestion and gin comments. Hugs to you.

My to do list today might drive me to the gin! So far this week I've done the basics plus cleaned fridge and some cupboards. Today the declutter continues plus trying to get Christmas crackers made, cards made and gifts wrapped.....chances of having energy to do it all are pretty slim! X

Busy all day today so better get on. I'll catch up later. X

Check you have all prescribed meds needed plus indigestion remedies (not because YOU can't cook, but because THEY overeat), headache tablets, calpol, gin. Lots of gin.
    Post those cards ASAP

That reminds me, DH is not allowed to mix indigestion tablets with his current medication so I must take a couple of packets to the pharmacist for safe disposal.
And I must put slimline tonic on the shopping list - though having watched last week's Apprentice, I'm not so sure about buying lots of gin :rotfl:

HHI - lets get that pile down before New Years.
My ironing bowl (think repurposed washing up bowl) is empty and unlikely to get more than a couple of oddments in it before the end of the year :D

The package I wanted to post yesterday - although thin, soft and flexible- was deemed too big to fit in their standard parcel-sized box  so I had to fold it over and use more tape to get it to an acceptable size. And I also have to send out one of our resource boxes. When I stopped outside the PO on my way to college yesterday afternoon I could see an enormous queue and didn't bother to get out of the car, so I must make an extra trip straight after breakfast.

I will catch up with all the flying when I have finished my assignment and before I put up the decorations. That might be Christmas Eve, then...

(((Hugs))) all round, help yourselves to spoons and sticks as needed. Please don't overdo things, dancemum x

Dizzy sorry that you're stressing - deep breaths sweetie.

Dancemum take it easy lovely; remember you're not 100% right now.

Iona I saw The Apprentice too - orange gin anyone? Or would you prefer some Giin? Can't believe those people - who on earth will he choose?

Just done some paid work whilst sitting all cosy in bed - it's only checking stuff on the internet for a firm of surveyors. Not sure if I've got more paid work in but will find out soon enough. Meeting a friend for coffee a bit later and have to go to local town to get blood test done plus get a few more presents. Looks nice outside so want to take Whiz out for a blast if I can too.

    Catch you laters ....

  • Morning all,

Was woken up just before 6 by DS. DH and I had thumping headaches, no idea why, but they have eased now. He is at work and kids are at school and pre-school. DW and WM both done and unloaded and TD on. I'll sweep out the wood burner in a bit, then I am going to be really indulgent and start my book.

The house is presentable enough, tea has been christened and anything else can wait. Please don't kick me off the thread :rotfl: xx

Valli you may have my share of the gin; I can't drink the stuff, it gives me a fearful headache. I'll stick to single malt whisky, if that's ok. :o

I put the dratted decs up yesterday, and appear to have banjaxed my left knee (the one I injured in a car accident in 1990 and was never treated) by going up and down on the step stool several times. :(

So the basics have been done, and the place is tidy for my visitors this evening (prospective new guest with his owner, for a meet'n'greet visit) and that will have to suffice. I may have to declutter some extra morphine later, just so that I don't wince in pain in front of the visitors.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
  • Checking in quickly, havent time to read properly but did someone mention gin? Was gin drinking on the list today? Havent checked but I hope so :).

Thanks Redshank, thats actually really helpful. Have rung hospital just to be on the safe side, they are ringing back.

Dash dash dash - have hoovered upstairs, changed DS2s bed, gathered laundry and dirty pots, made a casserole, cleaned out LR fire (in true 1950s style), dusted LR and tidied. Now I must work on the paid stuff.

I was thinking I hadn't achieved much this afternoon, but to be fair I've been in for less than 2 hours so probably have done quite a bit. Love a shorter day at work, a rare treat. WM on, DW unloaded & loaded, 5 things ironed (my limit per time), leftovers decluttered for lunch and half an hour of telly watched. Just wondering where to start next. Bathroom needs doing, haven't washed up since tea last night and stuff everywhere. Need to move the 'stuff' and hoover before I can put decs out. Mr T coming shortly.
