    Family lunch

    So what has happened today.
After we had the power back on it was a quick shower and out to the chemist. Made it to the library for opening at 930 as indicated on internet but of course it opened at 10. Half hour wasted and additional pennies spent in Mr T while I waited. Unfortunately none of the type of books I needed . Back home and cracked on with assignment, have completed 2 parts out of 4 but really need to do more reading around the subject. Doogie then walked to post office so all cards are now on their way except for family ones that I need to get before Sunday's distribution.
Flying wise the kitchen is looking better than it did when I came back from the library as DH had collected all the washing and sorted and has spent the day feeding machines. So other than a few minor jobs from the list I have not done a thing. Am going out for tea shortly and will have another look at it when I come back.

Good to see I'm not studying alone Ionafan

Got loads of Christmassy things to do - quite a bit of present wrapping to do. Don't know why I don't do it when I buy the things!

Haven't had time to read the thread, so sending hugs to anyone who needs one.

    Take care

Back on flying sorry frank turner sends me off topic sometimes
I've never heard of Frank Turner; who is he? :o

Ted's still here; had a text from his Dad, he's just leaving Harrow, so I expect he'll be here in about an hour or so. :o

  • I'm in again, thanks for the lists x

Had a lovely time last week, wandering around Cologne Christmas markets, feeling very festive now. Tree is up x

Have been fluttering really, house looks tidy but could do with a little more attention, so will be following the lists as best I can this week.

Work on Tues, Weds and Thurs so will try and do an hour after, but also need to wrap all pressies as I want to deliver them over the weekend so I have next week free.

Hugs to all those in need xx

After a massive effort (because I have NO guag) I am pleased to announce I have cleaned the dining room, vacuumed through the hall and living room, and paired and put away socks.

I have no enthusiasm for this at all, yet I know having the house clean will be a tonic for the soul.

I was hoping doing the thread would help.

    It sort of has.

  • Hi all

I had to devote a bit of time to cleaning the car this aft. It was disgusting both inside and out. Patio swept, dog walked, both paid stuff done, roast dinner cooked. DH sorted the kitchen while I went back to the laptop.

It's been 14 hours on the go but a lot achieved. Time for bed now.

Well done Valli, baby steps xxx

I'm done for the night too. Head hurts, but got quite a lot of work done tonight. Structure and content of assignment is sorted, just a bit of editing, referencing then printing to do tomorrow (after DD school concert).

Kitchen re-tidied after dinner. DW wants emptying but it can wait till morning.

    Night all xx

    Evening all

Hugs Valli and anyone else needing some.

Sounds like lots of busy people on here this week and I feel like I've been busy all day as well.

Did the dailies and karchered the condensation from the windows. Then did a general tidy/put away and dusted all through, top to bottom.

    Most of kitchen list done.
I cleaned microwave, micro-oven, mini oven and hob today - though oven and mini really need another go to come up sparkling. Did some cupboard shuffling so all cups and mugs are in same cupboard and flung a few freezer tubs that have seen better days. All carp sorted from fridge but was running out of steam by then, so will give it a good clean t/m. Also need to clean out roto-fryer t/m and then I'll do the floor last as bound to make a mess.

Monday - munch room mess - kitchen and dining room
Wipe all door handles, cupboard handles and switches and sockets
    Clean/sweep/mop floors as appropriate

Triffic Tuesday - BLITZ THAT BATHROOM
Clear all clutter and towels out, lets have a blank canvas
Flush the loo and add cleaner of choice - leave to soak
Spray Bath/Shower with cleaner of choice and leave to work its magic
Wipe mirrors and windows and shower screen if you have one
Lift out the plug and clean the underside *shudder*
Rod out the drain with a fine brush to lift out hair and gunk
Scrub the bath - don't forget the taps - polish with a dry m/f cloth
    Wipe bath with same cloth
Clean the loo inside and out, under the rim and everywhere
wipe walls at side of loo *especially* if males are in residence
    scrub the sink
    wipe down all cabinets
    wipe down pull handles
    Put out nice clean towels
    Clean the floor
Put a good slug of bleach down plugholes and round the toilet pan
    Extras
Empty the cupboard, chuck away anything not in use/OOD
    wipe down shelves
    restock
    polish the towel rail

Gws vibes for all the poorlies
Hope you all have a super Tuesday

    Well done Valli. X

I feel better for the flying I have achieved today though perhaps I shouldn't have used bleach with my lung.

    Kitchen tidied

Well done all those studying X
  • Good Morning All :)

Had the best night's sleep I've had in ages yet still feel groggy!

So far I have unloaded the DW and fed the kidlets. After school run, DS and I need to go to the library, do a couple of hours volunteering and then to the carol concert at his pre-school. I need to get my head around the last couple of presents I need to buy, then that's it.

I have made it abundantly clear that we are not spending a lot this year. I have also asked that, aside from the grandparents, people don't buy for the children. They end up with piles of tat that is never used, so instead if people want to get them something I have asked they spend time with them instead in the new year, feeding the ducks or such like. I could almost feel the sighs of relief from people - I get the feeling most of our family are sick of the wasteful abundances that seem to come hand in hand with Christmas.

Anyway, enough of waxing lyrical, must get on and clean the fire.

    Have lovely days all xx
