Been at work today, school run, back home....and have achieved the following:

Triffic Tuesday - BLITZ THAT BATHROOM

    Level 1
    DONE

    level 2
    DONE

    level 3
    DONE

    Extras
Empty the cupboard, chuck away anything not in use/OOD
    wipe down shelves
    [STRIKE]restock[/STRIKE]DONE
    [STRIKE]wash and gungy toothbrush holders/tooth mugs[/STRIKE] DONE
    [STRIKE]polish the towel rail[/STRIKE]DONE
unwanted/unused cosmetics? - see if your local hospice would like them for the family room for people (visitors) who unexpectedly need to stop overnight. Failing that the food bank will take them, or the Salvation Army

I've also managed to get dinner in the oven, DW unload, one load of washing and tumble dried that. Fresh sheets on DS bed. Now I think I might be ready for my bed :) . Got the Mr T order to do first though...oh and eat said dinner!

I think I may have my mojo back.

  • Hi all

Oh you are so lucky to have families who have agreed to cut down at Christmas, mine won't have any of that. Sigh.

Redshank I agree about the kitchen. If the worktops are clean and tidy and the sink and draining board are clear then I can cope with mess elsewhere.

Worried about DS1, he is so pale, I am thinking that he is probably anaemic but he only had his treatment a couple of weeks ago. Just hoping that this job is not too much for him. Off to research food that has lots of iron in it.

Green leafy veg (kale, nettles including nettle tea, brussels sprouts, chard, spinach, cabbage, spring greens etc), dried apricots, lentils, tofu, soya beans, pumpkin seeds, red meat (if a meat eater, I'm not) - cooking things in a cast iron pan helps and eat iron rich foods alongside vitamin C which helps with absorption. Make sure getting plenty of Vit B12 alongside too (meat/animal products, fortified foods like marmite, breakfast cereals, nutritional yeast). If he wants to supplement Spatone and Floradix are good (easier on the tummy), but Ferroglobin is cheaper :)

Today I repaired a trolley with a loose top. And fixed a sliding door that had jumped out of its track.

I am 100% sure neither of those is in my job description but the few minutes I spent have saved my employer money (cost of getting man in), ensured safety of children (nowhere to trap fingers) and reduced risk of damage to carpet. Thus also saving money.

Late night here for me. Been at a funeral this morning for one of J's uncles. Got home then had to go out again to take Z to Physio at hospital. By the time we got back it was tea time and then up to S's carol service at school. Sat down for a bit and watched another episode of The Fall and now it's bed time. Seriously running out of time when kids are in school which makes everything so much easier!

Off to bed now - here's to a more flying day tomorrow.

    Evening all

Lots of hugs Valli and some for everyone else

Did dailies and karchered the condensation
Gave the oven and mini another clean and they are now sparkling.
    Fridge and roto-fryer cleaned
Did order for butcher and phoned him
Phoned DSD for her birthday and thoughts for t/m

We agreed a few years ago to cut the spending on presents for C. Now we just buy each other something small to open on the day and give DSD some money to put towards some clothes for herself and the grand-sprogs. We usually buy DS something for his birthday in November and a note to get a drink at C, but as he has gone to the US we just gave him some money to get some clothes over there (much cheaper eh - especially jeans). We don't buy for anyone else in the family.

Five years ago we started sponsoring small entrepreneurs across the world through two agencies. We make small loans, which are repayable, and then re-loan as/when they repay. Each year we gift an extra £50 for C. It's great reading some of their stories as well.

Morning all. Hope you're all ok today.

I'm going to give the bedroom a blitz this morning before doing the dailies and travelling to Leeds for paid stuff today.

    Have a great day everyone.
