Good Morning All
I am keeping busy as much as possible to stop my mind from wandering. Dog walk later so hope it stays dry
Did loads yesterday DS2 and DS3 noticed how nice the kitchen looked!
Going to have breakfast then iron few shirts-its the only thing I iron.
Special Hugs to all having difficult time,
love katiecat x0 -
Morning all. Hugs for Valli and anyone who needs them. I am in albeit a bit late this week.
ATB - as a family we set a maximum that anyone could spend per person and the sighs of relief were audible. Will be doing this each year and it makes us so much more focussed on choosing smaller things that mean more.
Today I have dusted the dusty bits in the LR but that's it as I have to start the paid stuff now.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.0 -

LW frank turner is a folk punk singer the kids got me into, we've seen him a couple of times his energy is infectious.
Google 'England keep my bones' or 'positive songs for negative people' they are on YouTube or free on Spotify and you'll see what he's like. He's sung some traditional English folk songs from the medieval times which he confesses being a bit of a geek about as well as his own stuff which is pretty much enjoy your life and do what you want with it while fighting your demons on the way. He's got a documentary tonight only in the cinema about His life the battles with drugs and demons and how he's come through it all. Considering so few people have actually heard of him he does have a huge following of very loyal fans.
I'm currently writing work Christmas cards out and then need to get on with more flying.SPC~12 ot 124

I get the feeling most of our family are sick of the wasteful abundances that seem to come hand in hand with Christmas.
We went that way a few years ago, although we aren't a family with children so it isn't such an expense - neither I, my brother or BIL have children. We agreed just to buy little items and to give to charity. I actually find it just as much fun picking out a charity of relevance to each person - BIL used to play in a band, so last year we donated to a music charity that helps orphaned children; for my brother and SIL we donated to a charity in their district where school children have been helping to re-introduce little fish to a local river. We often use the matching charity The Big Give which means some kind company/individual agrees to match whatever you donate. Saves on wrapping paper too - as I usually make a little card with details of the charity to give.
Late-ish start today as sat over breakfast with BIL who has now left. Good day in London yesterday; was looking forward to a film at home but I didn't take to it so managed to finalise and email a report then start another. Not as sociable as I'd hoped to spend the evening, but necessary.
Head down to another report now before I get cold and think about some flying! Well, I did fill the bird feeders and write a shopping list for Mr N......Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -
(((Hugs))) Valli.
Thanks for the heads up on Frank Turner. I'll check him out later Mrs MP. You weren't the only one wondering LW.
Don't do too much Dancemum, although to do as much as you did must mean you're feeling a bit better, which is good news. *more healing vibes* heading your way.
Kitchen table has made it on to the front path so that's nearly at the tip, isn't it? Organising done for Christmas day at the chalet, so I'll kill those two birds with one stone this morning. Whoops. Just noticed the time. This afternoon. Where does time go? OH's cedar wood planks finally arrived this morning so he's sawn some of them up into the right lengths for the wardrobe. I'll be jolly glad when the bedroom isn't full of stuff that should be in the wardrobe but isn't because the shelves have been taken to the tip by moi as well.

Busy morning volunteering, singing Christmas songs at pre-school, trip to library and prepping dinner. It has been raining and is very damp outside. DS and I will go on foot to collect DD from school - hoping to wear him out - 2 year old boys seem to have an unlimited supply of energy!
Final three gifts have been organised in my mind so that's good. We haven't sent any Christmas cards at all this year and have instead sent some money to charity - it's our third year of doing this.
Looking forward to an easy evening in front of the TV with my new book.
Big hugs all round xMFW

Hallo - I sort-of fell under last week and the house exploded around me. I've spent most of today fending off a (gorgeous but currently) whiny toddler while in a state of overwhelm. No real flying today (though will probably squirt some bleach down the loo at some point)...just focusing (or trying to) on the basics which is mainly getting the kitchen in a state of order. I find if the kitchen is clean/tidy, I feel in a much better mood and more able to face the rest. Pretty sure the kitchen is the main room of the house where life happens. Anyway, it's done now. Toddler is napping, I'm having a quick sit down and a cuppa before she wakes and we have to go and pick eldest from school
If I can get to the end of today and the kids haven't starved, and I'm still breathing I'll class it as a good dayNewbie doing the best I can:A

I've not really flown today. Unless you count cleaning piggy cages. They were squeaking at me when I went in - sat half way up the ramp to get my attention. I had fed them this morning... So I lifted them out onto a blanket with a few leaves of Spring greens so I can clean out the cage. Heard a rustling - boy pig has ignored the leaves I got out for them, and climbed into the (plastic!!!) bag with the remaining head in! :rotfl: needless to say that won't be a veg we will be sharing this week!!!
Anyway, they are clean and happy with a fresh box of hay, and I'm happy my homework is finished. I've got about 10 sides of A4 done (not all today) with looooaaadddddsss of references this time (would seem an average 2 per page isn't enough!) I just hope they're all relevant!
Now it's time for feet up, coffee and tinterweb browsing, until school time!Bossymoo

Dot to dot results

Top of unit decluttered
Shelves of doom sorted (this used to be 4day job)
Shreading done and emptied
Computer desk dusted including shelves and sides

I put this down to strong painkillers as they are wearing off now and I can't move.0
