Morning all
I nearly had a meltdown yesterday over my essay, but have managed to complete the last of the four main sections. Only the introduction and conclusion (about 200 words each) to write now, plus a couple of sentences on a topic that I must include in order to be credited with demonstrating another of the assessment criteria! And then some careful editing to bring it down to an acceptable word count... The end is in sight, though it may not be reached today
The kitchen and bathroom have been S&S'd this morning. Yesterday DH :A hoovered downstairs, and everywhere is acceptably tidy. We need milk, which I will buy on my way home from church, and I have to do a MrS shop - but that will have to wait until tomorrow after the assignment is done.
(((Hugs))) (very gentle ones for lynnejk), spoons and sticks all round x0 -
Ooh it's quiet on here today. I expect you're all busy Christmas getting ready flying.
Anyway, I've done everything from my list. I am clean but not in my party frock yet.
I may potter for a little while.Spend less now, work less later.0 -

Rant warning :mad::mad:
Why can my in-laws not sort out a p**s up in a brewery.
Originally I invited my parents for a quiet New Year as we are with the In-laws ALL Xmas (in Aboyne - about 3hrs north)
DH says, Oh why don't we invite his parents as they haven't seen mine in quite a few years (due to my drinking). I'm fine with that. It will be a nice adult evening, probably straight to bed after the bells.
Oh, but SIL is staying with parents in law until 9th Jan (with 6 month old baby). They'll have to come, so we might as well invite S&BIL (with 1yr and 4yr old) through from Helensburgh. All parents of small things to go back to Helensburgh before the bells so only 2 sets of parents staying.
By this time (about 3 weeks ago) I'm less enthusiastic, but can cope if screaming things are leaving.
2 weeks ago - oh, Other BIL been taken ill so not deploying to Gibraltar as planned, can he come. YES.
Last week - Helensburgh groups other MIL over from Greece. Can't leave her for Hogmanay. Also, we now wont have beds in Helensburgh so can 6month old et al stay here. GRRRRR (I have zero tolerance for small screaming things).
Yesterday, BIL has to drive back south on 2nd January so unfair to drag him down from Aboyne on Hogmanay, back to Aboyne on NYD and then down to Winchester on 2nd. Can EVERYONE stay until 2nd :eek::eek:
I am losing the will to live. Lots of chocolate being consumed.Goals - Weight loss 6/26lb at 22nd Jan 18Mmmm. 26lb at 1/7/18. Oops:o0 -
Evening all
I'm in this coming week as I've finished work and need to get the house ready for Christmas. I spent last night wrapping presents ready for the Scouts to take to the community lunch at the Salvation Army tomorrow. I also need to go to my MIL's tomorrow so I won't have a lot of time. DH goes in for his knee op on Friday so that messes things up to some degree but at least it will be done then.
Hope everyone's well
Hugs

Oh FBO I feel for you. We had something similar happen once and its a bit selfish but now I refuse to do it. I love being with my family but having them to stay for long periods over Xmas is just tooo much.
After I posted this morning I crashed out on the sofa and slept till 10am! Felt much better when I woke up. Presents wrapped, dog walked, washing done, clean washing put away, DS cooked tea so I washed up and gave the kitchen floor a going over.
Busy busy week and we are all a bit partied out here so it will be early nights all round I think.0 -
Lynne very gentle (((HUGS))) - Mr LW has fallen out of bed a couple of times recently; it's decidedly un-funny, I know. Hope your hand is feeling better - is it your dominant hand you've hurt?FurryBeastOz wrote: »Also, we now wont have beds in Helensburgh so can 6month old et al stay here. Actually, this is why I don't have ANY spare human beds of any description; I don't do human overnight guests. In any case, if your guests are all canine, you don't have to stop and think to put on a dressing gown before poodling off to the loo in the middle of the night.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Natty bet you'll be so pleased when down to just 1 day a week therapy.Save

I'm so looking forward to it, DH is going to duct tape things down though as he thinks I may go through like a whirlwing and declutter like a woman posessed, as I've been deprived of doing it for a year...lolMortgage Free as of 20.9.17Declutter challenge 2023, 2024 🏅 🏅⭐️⭐️

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:The only time Devil Cat wants my company is after the evening meal, sitting on my lap. Such a shame I can't help with the washing up ....
Dear God, FBO, what a selfish shambles of a family. Have any of the outrageously late additions suggested they might stay in a local hotel? Enjoy your chocolate and lay in an enormous stash to get you through it.
OH has been an absolute saint and put the tree up, decorated it and hung all of the cards, put the handles on the new cabinets, built the shelves in the wardrobe and cleared out the leaves from the lightwells. I heart him.
The meal out with neighbours was fabby. The couple who organised it asked if they could do pre-dinner drinks and nibbles in our house for everyone as their boiler packed up a few weeks ago and it's freezing. Not conducive to hospitality at all in there. So they came in here, Kelpie thought that was marvellous, welcomed everyone, acted the host beautifully and and helped himself to one of the canapes very delicately.
I've been frantically busy but still haven't managed to write my cards. Fortuantely my American cousin phoned to say she's not sending any this year so I got away with that missed deadline, but her getting shingles (she's 75) seems a bit extreme to get out of doing them.
OH is off to London tomorrow so I've got two days to clear the decks, do some much needed flying and write those wretched cards. Season of goodwill and all that.Better is good enough.0
