More proud bossymum news - had a call from assistant principal this morning about DD relaying a message from her teacher about how fabulous she is, mature, kind, helpful, attentive and excelling in all subjects and so on.Especially good to hear given the assistant principal was the one who told me she was marking her down in certain areas at the end of reception year. Must have really stuck in her throat lol. I was very gracious of course but I've been chuckling to myself ever since heheh.0

Hi guys, sorry not posted - I prefer to post when I have my laptop otherwise I end up with lots of typos when I use my phone.
Been busy getting tasks done but also have had lots of lie-ins this week (I am on holiday just now) as I have been feeling very tired. Lots of Christmas bits going on - tonight I am at my in-laws and tomorrow at a panto plus meal with family.
Flylady wise I have set up morning and evening routines and this week have done Level 1 tasks from the first post.
Heading to catch up on everyone's posts.0 -
Hello all,
Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay no more school! Children are exhausted, I don't think they could have done another day. We've just got back from the end of term carol service, DD1 did an accordion duet, and did it perfectly (after another performance earlier in the week where she made mistakes and was gutted) so I can add to the proud mummy crew!
Thanks for your thanks ATB,I'm just so glad you got it sorted.
To whoever sent the secret santa, it is safely under my tree (which is now up, that counts as flying).
I haven't posted mine yet arghhhh, will do it tomorrow, I didn't know about the postal strike!
Glad you got good news Lynne, I may have said this already, but I don't know whether I'm coming or going at the moment. Plan for the rest of the day (I was at the paid stuff this morning) :
General tidy round.
Hoover LR flipping pine needles
Walk dog
Finish wrapping pressies
Sort OH's pressie and birthday pressie
Get a decent nights' sleep.
Hugs all round, and don't do to much. Catch you all later! Xx0 -
Hi guys, not posted much as I've had the usual...yep therapy..lol. Really can't wait till the end of January when I actually get my days back, bar one when I am at therapy instead of three days.
Cards for the swap are all bagged up, labels on them and they are all waiting to go to the post tomorrow, would do today but have been taken ill overnight. After thinking about it I now think it might have been food poisoning the fact it came on so quickly and so weirdly. Haven't even finished dressing the tree, it's done at the bottom to halfway but not the top bit...Shall do the rest tomorrow after my visit from my friend..although I might bribe him into doing it he does so love doing that sort of thing... and he can spend time with the pup as he adores him so much just doesn't get to see him that much.
Hugs and love to everyone xxxMortgage Free as of 20.9.17Declutter challenge 2023, 2024 🏅 🏅⭐️⭐️

I think the postal strike is only counter staff and not the posties.. Mine has reassured me that he will still be going around on his rounds.. So I suppose if you can post through a letterbox then the strike won't affect anyone..Mortgage Free as of 20.9.17Declutter challenge 2023, 2024 🏅 🏅⭐️⭐️

That's useful to know Natty, and if it's only PO counters, then I think there are only 300 of those left in the country now as most are now in corner shops and such like.
Having spent the last 3 hours wrapping presents and preparing parcels, I shall post mine tomorrow. Cards were posted last week.
About to chill in front of the telly. I will catch up with all you lovelies tomorrow.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Hi all
DS and 3 giggling 15 yo girls delivered to their party. Horrible foggy drive to get them there.
Two lots of paid stuff, kitchen is a mess but I am staying out of there. It can wait till tomorrow. DH wants to go to the shops tomorrow for a final shop and we are out tomorrow night at a Christmas meal.
Feeling fairly chilled. Almost feel too organised for Christmas but we are deliberately keeping it all fairly low key this year.0 -
Wanna do mine LW? :rotfl:
:D
Faceless I feel your pain, hun. I'm the world's worst worrier - if I'm not worried about something, I worry because I must've overlooked something I should be worried about. :cool:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Last working day of the year, I spent it in reception class, they are lovely. I gave them all reindeer food and told them I'd sent Santa an email saying they were all to be put on the nice list.
Found out my mum had a fall yesterday resulting in an ambulance ride a discolated thumb and a badly bruised face do feel guilty that she lives so far away and I can't do more for her.
I'm writing cards at the mo and now I've finished work I can get on with wrapping.
ATB glad the bill got paid
LW glad the visit went well
I'll try and keep up next week
Hugs to all who need themSPC~12 ot 124

Sorry to hear that; yes it is upsetting enough without living far away - I feel very guilty at times. Why did I move 130 odd miles from my family aged 18 and not return, never occurred to me that one day I might want/need to be a carer.
Lots of flying credit to Mr N today. We had a phone call 8.30am from some friends asking if we'd like to meet another friend for a meal tomorrow, and if possible could they stay the night. Of course they were easily able to persuade me as they will be bringing their whippet!! So Mr N has spent the day wrapping presents, delivering cards and getting guest bedroom and bathroom ready. I just went to work. Oh, I did post a few cards on the way and I designed/printed the card detailing the charity gift we're "giving" a friend.
This eve we rang a couple of places about eating tomorrow, but engaged from one and busy from another so I madly said I'd cook. It's only going to be a roast. Dropped into Mr A this evening to buy a chicken; delivered 3 more cards and had coffee with friends who were in when we delivered. So tomorrow's plan:
- make Xmas flower arrangement in a cracker for church, like I did last year.
- had very reluctantly decided not to make the usual front door wreath after the hunting for moss fiasco; so now I need to make a small floral something to go on the front door.
- flower arrangement in lounge needs tidying/replenishing.
- put breadmaker on
- go to decorate church
- hopefully deliver a friend's present and card (6 mile drive away)
- organise dinner
- blitz rest of house.
- drop card in to welcome new neighbours.
Hardly worth going to bed really. And I haven't said anything about writing any reports..........Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0
