Nice temps though!

It's a tad too hot for me. I like it warm, but...etc, etc. :rotfl:
I think last year was the hottest I've known it when we have been in June, I felt rather poorly at one point. It was a bit too much. I think that walkway from Aria to PH and along there is the hottest place on the Strip.
That 'mister' picture make me smile though. Those things are a complete waste of time. By the time they reach you, the water has more or less evaporated :rotfl:

We went in August last year and walked quite a lot as we normally do. On the hottest day (about 114F) we walked from the Stratosphere to The Wynn. No faster than a saunter, but by the time we got to The Wynn my heart was hammering in my chest just from the heat, and we both went back to the hotel with headaches and had to have a nap at about 4pm!

Horrible when it gets to you like that, isn't it?
I had a bit of a bad do in PH (we both did tbh) with the heat. I ended up sat near the toilets for about 30 minutes after soaking my head and face with tepid water. I was like a beetroot. I don't think the powers that be were impressed with us, we were sat next to $ machines and didn't put a penny in them :rotfl:. We were that pooped/ill from the heat, we really couldn't be bothered to play. (Made up for it later with buffalo) :rotfl:
That's the worst I have ever felt while over there. It has got to us before, because we weren't used to it, but it really hit us that day. Thank goodness for casino air con. :rotfl: (and the only Ben & Jerry's one the Strip now - that helped a little bit after the nausea went away) :TBEST EVER WINS WON IN ORDER (so far) = Sony Camcorder, 32" lcd telly, micro ipod hifi, Ipod Nano, Playstation 3, Andrex Jackpup, Holiday to USA, nintendo wii, Liverpool vs Everton tickets, £250 Reward Your thirst, £500 Pepsi, p&o rotterdam trip, perfume hamper, Dr Who stamp set, steam cleaner.

Haha we're here now and the Strip is busy as ever!
We seem to pick the right dates - yesterday was 117 degrees, only fifth time on record (the last time was when we were here in 2013). Not the best for a pasty Brit but I'm coping. We walked from Mirage up to the IHOP near the Stratosphere this morning (it's a tradition for us) and I must admit, by the time we arrived I was starting to feel a bit dizzy. Four glasses of iced tea sorted me out thankfully. It's fun for a week or so but I completely understand why locals hate the heat so much!"Don't sacrifice what you want most for what you want now"

Your lucky to be in Vegas now, with the high temperature.
We are in New Orleans at the moment, and the weather is awful.
Absolutely poured down for 2 days, soaked to the skin, and tornado warning in place for New Orleans area.
Only place to go is Harrahs Casino, however machines nothing like Vegas, they just eat money without even giving you a play for your money.
Thank god we have Vegas to look forward to in October.0 -
Yuck
Saw the national weather today and the whole south east of the country looked VERY wet
Hope the weather picks up for you

Hubs is having a nap so thought I'd scribble down a few bits from the last couple of days.
Very happy with both hotels this trip - the suite at the Palazzo was lovely but our room at Mirage is nice enough; having windows across two walls is fantastic. The only thing I don't like about this room is the bathroom - it's absolutely puny, I appreciate almost anything would seem small in comparison to the double sink, giant bath and separate shower and dressing table we had at the Palazzo but it really is tiny. It's great being in this location though, so much closer to most places we want to go.
We've had a few pool days (well, hours). V/P pool area was very nice but we both prefer the pool here, it's a lot easier to find loungers in the shade and the atmosphere seems more laid back.
Most of our meals so far have been on some sort of deal...
Mirage breakfast buffet (MyVegas) - much nicer than I remember it, great dessert selection and I was delighted to find that mimosas are included in the price
Aria weekday brunch buffet (MyVegas) - great food (my favourite was the creamed corn on the diner section) but service was lacking; the servers were great but there just wasn't enough of them
Earl of Sandwich kindly emailed hubs a bogo code for fathers day - good as usual
Sugar Factory (Groupon). This was one of the worst meals I've ever had the misfortune to eat. Generally I'm extremely easy to please but the place was too dark and too loud and the service was abysmal. Mr WJ had a burger that he said was alright but my club sandwich was horrible, it just tasted of salt and too many dried herbs. I was really looking forward to this meal so was pretty disappointed. The one saving grace was the peanut butter frozen hot chocolate - now that was very good indeed!
Carnegie Deli (MyVegas). I really like it here, very expensive sandwiches but they're so good. The half of my tuna salad that I couldn't finish is currently sitting on a bed of ice in the bathroom sink ready for me to finish later. One thing to note though - the reward was credited as a bogo, not the $25 credit it used to be. Don't know if this is a new thing or not.
Meals we've paid full price for..
Planet Dailies - great spot for a good value breakfast and good service
Denny's - as above. The location near Casino Royal is lovely, everything seemed new and was well maintained
IHOP - we first visited the location by the Strat on our first trip in 2003 (we were staying at the Riv then) and we go once every visit. We were served today by the same waitress who served us in 2003 - she's got incredibly long hair, which is how we remembered her after the first visit. I think she might be a vampire as she never ages but she's brilliant at her job so we'll forgive her that haha
I don't feel like we've gambled as much as usual this trip but we're both doing ok, more or less breaking even on the slots although my win/loss statement is NOTHING like Stuie's - maybe divide his figures by 100!
We popped into SLS whole we were up that way today, what a lovely casino! I liked it there a lot but it was dead, such a shame - I'm amazed it hasn't closed yet. As soon as we arrived we were approached by two cocktail waitresses - if only everywhere had that level of service!
Got a bit excited as there was work going on at the Fontainbleu (literally one crane with once bloke but at least it was something). Just Googled though and it's apparently just a wrap being applied to the lower floors. Bah."Don't sacrifice what you want most for what you want now"

Does anyone know if I can get a better deal by waiting until roughly one month before departure when booking a thomas cook package?
Any other tips on getting the best prices appreciated 0 -
