We tip Uber and Lyft. Uber with cash and Lyft through the app.

Have preferred Lyft over Uber this trip. Cheaper prices and slightly better and more pleasant drivers.

Wow! South Point to GN for $9 is amazing!
I only tip if I'm using Lyftline. I had to 2 trips to the airport this past trip and used Lyftline both times there and back. Never had anyone in the cab with me and a flat rate of $5 from airport to Platinum.
We did work out though that we spent about $120 in taxi fares over 6 days. God knows what it would have been had we used normal cabs.
One tip I can give, download an app called FairRide. It brings up Lyft and Uber in one app, compares the real time prices and you can then just click on the one you want and it transfers you direct to the app of the one you choose. We did find Lyft cheaper about 90% of the time
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

I actually enjoy the journey there. For me the holiday starts when we get to the airport - love a mooch around duty free and then a drink in the airport lounge. We always fly with Virgin (only option for direct flights from Manchester) and their in flight service (food, drink and entertainment) is great. I enjoy the opportunity to just sit, relax and watch films and documentaries in peace.

We went direct to las vegas from manchester with Thomas cook, they also have premium seating which we booked. it worked out cheaper than virgin and the food, entertainment was good

    hi

I can understand your point . I feel it is exciting when you are at the airport GOING to vegas, i do admit i get that feeling though it soon leaves when im on the plane, it takes off and im like a kid "are we there yet!?
coming back I feel is a drag knowing you d be leaving vegas for a good while and will be already wanting to go back within a few days!
I d love to fly on virgin , though we d need to travel though to glasgow for a direct flight( it ll be a thomas cook flight from glasgow) though its possiable going down to manchester/london the night before stay at a cheap[ hotel and flying that way with virgin.

Im a very anti social person according to my brother -though i blame shyness.i just dont like speaking to people i dont know on planes and being in a coach economy with 3 seats im not the most talkative person .
    kind reagrds

Ah I agree with you about coming back, would never describe that as 'fun' haha. I'm probably a bit anti-social on planes too - luckily on our last half dozen flights I think I've only had to sit next to a stranger twice - one time it was a really nice woman who said hello but had the same attitude as me (10.5 hours of peace and quiet), the other was a young lad who slept right through. I'm not shy but I am a little introverted so would hate to be sat next to a 'weirdo' who wanted to chat lol

Thomas Cook fly direct from Manchester. Also I noticed Virgin have extra direct flights on Tuesdays and Saturdays in September and some of October. I always thought it was just Thursday and Sunday flights. Not sure why it's just Sept and Oct...

Course, forgot about TC! Ooh that's interesting about Virgin - hope they extend the extras

I'd happily book with TC (totally forgot about them!) but we've paid for the last two flights and this year's with Virgin miles collected through credit card spends - only costs us around £220 each in taxes so very mse

The season finishes before my next visit, but for anyone out there between now and early Sept I can recommend catching a baseball game.

This travelzoo offer gets you a free hat as well. All from $11.
When we went a couple of years ago we did so on a promotion night - $1 beers!

we went 2 years ago, was good, $1 hotdogs too and they taste good!!
  • I managed to book the Hippodrome VIP dinner today for 300k. Figured we might use it in the next 3 months, or I could just cancel and get a refund.

I'd loved to have used LPs in a 2 night stay somewhere, but think it'll be a couple of years at least before we head back...

Doesn't look like we'll be going back next year either. We're going to Punta Cana in January and then Mr Jas wants to go back to Florida next summer, which is fine by me. We haven't been for six years so it'll be nice to reacquaint ourselves with Orlando and hopefully do some exploring of the state.

Will miss Vegas hugely though. Glad he's said this before this year's trip so I can make sure to absorb as much lovely Vegasness as possible
