trying to find a nice restaurant (that isnt too posh and pricey) that we can go to after our wedding ceremony, it's only the two of us, i wanted to go to the eiffel tower restaurant but the OH said it's too expensive :(
    Any suggestions?

    there are a 1001 options

but if thats too pricey but you want the same area then mon ami gabi at the base of the tower is not too expensive does good food and if you get a patio seat (you may have to wait as you cant book the patio) you can watch the bellagio fountains while you eat

two of the best dining experiences we had were:

    DOCG (Cosmopolitan)

so well looked after, amazing food and not super expensive.

    Rose.Rabbit.Lie (Cosmopolitan)

brilliantly inventive food, amazing cocktails, really quirky cool atmosphere... plus live entertainment

Try casa di amore, we went there after we renewed our wedding vows. One of our favourite restaurants food is lovely. Its off strip but you can get their limo to pick you up or drop you off.
  • Booked flight end of March direct from Manchester £399 each, just need a hotel, not that cheap anymore, Monte Carlo is high on my list at the moment, any other ideas or offers anyone knows of?

As an aside, re popovers...one of my friends made them after I posted photos of my first attempt on Facebook. Somehow one of her kids ended up cutting off the top and filling the middle with chicken pie filling...this was declared a success, and so we tried it, and it is pretty darned good.

this is Vegas related as we had our first popovers at BLT Steak last trip and brought the recipe home with us.

I think we have decided to skip the Sterling Brunch again this trip...it just seems like we would not get value out of it. I do wish I had gone with my plan to use Social Rewards points for it when I had the chance.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

What dates and who are you flying with? Also, do you have a preferred hotel besides Monte Carlo? There is a bit of construction going on there just now.

    Which dates, how many nights?
    What is your budget?
What do you want from a hotel - is it just somewhere to sleep or somewhere you'll spend some time, with a casino, on the strip...
  • Just trying to figure out how to add images via tiny pics.
Let's see if this works. It's a pic from our Cosmo balcony in 2012...

Edit - great, it works. I'll get on with uploading pics and then include them in my TR.
  • So the tiny pic process is slow and frustrating - I'll try and use a laptop later, rather than an iPad, maybe that will help.

In the meantime here's a pic from earlier this week at the show 'Baz - Star Crossed Love' which is at the Palazzo and available through Travelzoo.

We had VIP seats through that offer (first few rows) and it includes a glass of champagne each. We were upgraded on entry though to seats on the stage (3 tables of two on each side).

If you like his films you'll love it (as OH does and did).

Hi, two issues I've got now :o One is Excalibur! Now all I'm expecting is a Travelodge/Premier Inn in a castle, it will be myself and 9 year old son. I'm starting to read all sorts on Trip advisor and elsewhere, that the place is full of smoke and drunks. I've never gone into a hotel in Vegas where the smoke and drunks were so apparent you'd mention it. Even Circus Circus wasn't. However last year we didn't visit Excalibur so is it REALLY that bad? It's supposed to be a budget trip as we're all (other two children in tow) doing Orlando in August, so this was just supposed to be a cheapie Vegas trip for me and son after the chickenpox debacle last August :rotfl: But I don't want to be somewhere so smoky it'll make our eyes water and ruin our lungs.

My other issue is my daughter will be off from Uni a few days before we leave and returning a few days after we come back. For some reason our dates 3-13th April have continuously been £988 for flight only with BA but myself and son got flights and Excalibur under under £1.400.00 by booking a BA package. When I booked I assumed she'd have revision but her degree makes them do all exams before they break up, so she'll be home twiddling her thumbs and is DESPERATE to come. The price for that same flight is now over 1k :o Is April usually that high? I've been checking since october and those dates flight only with BA have not gone under 988.00. Thanks :)
