The horrible events in vegas have firmed up that we will definitely be going next year. We will not be intimidated.
I have some leave booked for early February, so we're thinking between the 5th and 15th.
We're a pair of 'Vegas virgins' so, while I know there are more important things going on right now, I hope you'll be willing to share some tips and advice in the next few weeks as we figure out our plans and budget.
Hope everyone has somewhere warm and safe to sleep tonight.Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you. Anne Lamott
It's amazing how those with a can-do attitude and willingness to 'pitch in and work' get all the luck, isn't it?
Please consider buying some pet food and giving it to your local food bank collection or animal charity. Animals aren't to blame for the cost of living crisis.0 -
as many have said it is a terriable and scary thing, glad you are okay stuie.
I think this sorta thing would not just be vegas related ,i think it could have easily happened anywhere in the usa.
thoughts are with the victims families though0 -
Glad everybody who posts on here and is there atm are okay.
Keep seeing rumours on FB that there were other shootings at other places, but I think it's just that, rumours. It's easy for the rumour mill to work over time in sad situations like this.
I feel sorry for those who have been caught up in it. It doesn't make any sense.

glad those of you who are there are all safe. it's such a shocking thing. we've also been asked by many people if we are still going, and have to explain that we take the tube into work every day, so....
everyone stay safe.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
when did Virgin change its website so that you now cannot enter API until you check in?
"You won't be able to add your API information before you check in."
I found that after trying about 5x to enter our details and getting an error to say to try again later...not 'try again when you check in'...oh, no...later.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
Regarding MyVEGAS, has anyone noticed the $25 reward on the MyKONAMI game on mobile? I've just bought it to see what the terms and conditions are. You don't need to be staying at an Mlife property and it's limited to Konami slots at Mirage. We have around 6 million LPs between us, and don't think we will ever use them up.0

What's the best way to get from the MGM to Freemont Street? I have just got a taxi before but was wondering what other people would do.
Thanks0 -
Came across this video while I was messing around on Youtube.
Some of you might find it interesting.
I won't spoil which hotel got the no. 1 spot, but had the Riviera still been standing, I would have nominated it.

Thanks
Uber or Lyft.
We used both for the first time when in New York earlier this year, but only once each....JFK to hotel...hotel back to JFK.
But over the last few days here in Vegas,we have used both quite a lot.
It's just so much "easier" to open an app on your phone.Price is always cheaper than a taxi, and no worries about which way the driver takes you,or how long it takes,as you have already pre-paid.Tip can be added separately after you leave the ride.As a couple who have used taxis quite a lot over the years in Vegas,I know roughly what a taxi costs from place to place...and both these firms are coming up with cheaper quotes on every trip.0 -
Uber or Lyft for Freement street, wouldn't even consider normal taxies now after getting ripped off from the airport0
