Those simply show the money side of your bill, you need to show how this has been calculated e.g. meter readings, unit rates, daily standing charge etc.

The big problem I see is that the bill from April 2016 starts with an estimated opening read from April 15 (and closes in Mar 16 with an estimate), Are these correct. Your current read is 78214 and that bill closes with 64975 meaning they have billed you for 13239 units at 9.282p = £1228 for use. This bill is catching up from the first one and is correct according to the current meter read. The problem would seem to be the opening read from the first bill - is it correct ?

As I have asked previously, is the meter being read yours ? - are all the flat meters in a communal cupboard, is this a purpose flat or a conversion ?

What do you mean the opening read from the first bill?

It's a meter just outside my flat (in a communal area of a block of flats) a

When I first signed up im not sure if i gave a reading, i must have.

May 2016 is accurate reading as I have the email i sent to them. 074791 Was The Read.

The meter reading, as of this morning is 078124.

Yes it's in a cupboard in a block of flats, in a communal area. My father has previously told me the meter in the bottom cupboard is my meter.

What you sent them in May is irrelevant as the bill in April used an estimate and the latest bill is roughly correct according to your own latest read. You really need to know what the actual reading was in April 2015 (was that when you moved in ?) as that is what you have been billed from and where this massive use leads back to. If you can't do that then you will have to suck it up and probably be paying for the previous tenant's use. A hard lesson learned and will make sure you pay more attention to meter reads and bills in future.

But have you checked it is yours - do a simple kettle test to find out.

I've lived in the flat since 2013. On the first bill it has an E beside the 64975, which means estimate.

0 6 3 8 4 0 was the very first meter that was submitted to them when I signed up with them in May 2015.
