Had a good start so far in the weight loss campaign. I had a bowl of mixed fruit and fibre and muesli with extra raisins and skimmed milk for breakfast followed by a brisk walk to the doctors and back (15 minutes each way). I am planning to have a bowl of soup and home baked bread roll for lunch and home-made cornish pasties and vegetables for dinner. I won't be having potatoes as I'm having pastry so don't feel too guilty. The pasties will use up some left over lamb I had so it should be a no spend day too. Snacks will be clementines and milky coffees. I have quite a few over the day but make them from skimmed milk and have a tiny espresso cup so they are actually only about 35 calories each - and feel far more satisfying than a coffee made with water.Weight Loss Challenge 5/7/19 10st 6lbs

All my life I've taken sweets in and then munched through the lot before the trailers were over. I'd look hopefully along the line to see if the kids had any left.
One day I went with a friend and I felt right sorry for her, thinking she'd forgotten her little store, so gamely offered her a few of mine. She told me she hadn't long had her lunch so didn't need anything. I thought, 'eh, wots that got to do with anything?'She's right, it was a habit not a need. I now treat myself to a coffee and enjoy that far more. Mind, took me about a year to not feel deprived.
A trip to the cinema is over in a couple of hours and I resented the prices of the pick and mix and popcorn on sale there, so we decided to visit a supermarket and buy a small bag of sweets there first but eventually that faded out, the kids are not bothered. INfact now it annoys me if I'm sitting next to someone that can not stop stuffing their face all through the film.
Then I cut sweets from long car journeys.... my parents live about 300 miles away so we do long journeys, this always used to mean tons of sweets for the car, then I realised the car does not actually need any sweets and nor do we  . A packet of chewing gum can last hours if you really need to chew.
Had my first weigh in today:eek: Oh boy!!!!
However I'm at my desk with a flask of homemade soup and have just agreed to go swimming with my work collegues twice a week after work!!0 -
Hi all
Day 1 of trying to get back on track for me, I started the tesco gi ediet last year so am using the principles of that again as it seems to work best for me to have 3 even calorie meals a day with a snack (I like to get a lot for breakfast) I often break up my breaky as well so as to stagger it, eg. one if cereal and 1 egg on toast so I have the cereal early and the egg on toast mid morning...
Anyway today the plan is
Brekky Greek yogurt with chopped nuts and honey
1 banana
(already consumed!)
Lunch Tuna salad sandwich
Dinner Chilli con carne
snack 1 cracker with peanut butter
Hope you are all doing well today, good luck Frogga at the dentist...
I will weigh in tomorrow (as I had started this 5 weeks ago and my first day is a Thursday) so hope I havn't put too much back on over Christmas...Jun GC £250.00/£12.40 NSD 3 / 30

Hello Slimmers!
Today I took the plunge and enrolled myself in a Slimming World class, everybody very friendly but the biggest appeal is that it is at 9:30 in the morning, so it makes me start the (Wednes)day with a positive action!
I weighed at 14st 3and 1/2 lbs, this is a bit more than before Xmas but it was only to be expected - the woman asked me how much I plan to lose for next week and because I want to continue in my positive attitude I said that I want to break the 14 st mould, anything under 14 st would do (this means a minimum of 4lbs loss in a week!). I know I can do it. Wish me luck!
Food today:
Breakfast: 3 oatcakes (in lieu of porridge - slept over a bit and no time to cook! Need to remind myself to get better organised in the morning!)
Lunch: bowl of wholemeal pasta with some leftover (fat free) tomato and peppers sauce and 2 tbsps of quark.
(all the above already eaten, below is plan for rest of day)
Snack: apple and 3 brazil nuts
Dinner: lentil and barley soup with cabbage, carrots and onions, bowl of yoghurt with tbs fruit and nuts and 1 kiwifruit
Am about to start working after 2 weeks break, so of course I am tithering and dithering and delaying the moment I open my work email, which is probably going to be chockablock!
Off I go now, have a good day all of you, perhaps see you all later, if not tomorrow for a catch up!
Isn't it lovely that life is going back to normal (after the holidays)?
Caterina
PS forgot to say: I went for a tums bums and thighs class before lunch! Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Hi all, I'm back in the saddle with this now. I've recently moved house and have been eating at friends or eating pasta because I didn't want to brave the shops as I really hate queues. Hopefully now it'll slow down and I can get in and fill my cupboard with basic essentials.
This morning I've had an apple for Breakfast and will probably make smoked mackerel pasta for dinner tonight.
is that all you're having today? wouldn't be enough for me!:DDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Caterina - good luck at SW! wish we had a morning weigh in - ours is at 6.30pm and we're all usually starving by the time we get home!:D
Well done to M.E. and Cookie for being so good over Christmas!:TDo what you love :happyhear0 -
I want to lose a stone as quickly as possible - but also as cheaply as possible.
I can't afford to join a gym or weight loss club.
Anyone got any successful cheap menus to follow or anything??Dream of being mortgage free....
