Help Needed with CSA

My partner split from his wife about 7 or 8 years ago we have been together for early 6 and have two babies together.
He has had very little contact from the CSA but on each cotact he has continually informed them that the information they have about his financial situation was incorrect and he physically couldnt give the what he didnt have. He has provided for the kids by means of clothes etc but has refused to give her cash because of her previous involvement in drugs ( i realise thats a whole other argument)....
anyway, this week he recieved a lette from them stating that " as he knew he should have paid them £109 by the 13/09/07" and then a second lette stating that he had arrear of over £36,000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He is absolutely terrified and i am ,of what he might do, we are already on a DMP to the tune of 33k... we have two babies and are struggling as it is to keep our roof over our head. We both work.
does anyone know where the heck we go to try and start to sort this sorry mess out.
I know there wil prob be lots of PWC out there who will have strong opinions about the fact he hasnt paid any maintennace but there is a whole big story behind that and im asking for help rather than opinions.
Thankyou

dont think the CSA can take what you have not got, think they look at your incomings and outgoings, in my case i never got a penny and my son is now 21, cos my ex had a new partner and child and only had a small amount of money left after outgoings they only took a percentage of that into account thus we got nothing. think you should get some advise try the citizens advice bureau. Dont know how all of a sudden they can demand all that. Doesnt seem right!!0

Does anyone out there belong to this organisastion, ive only just come across it, and they say they are there to hep with stuff like this but the subscription is £40. I know its not a lot compared to legal fees but its stil a lot to find when you havent got it.
Im so fed up... it just seems so unfair, she is on benefits, her partner is too now cause he is classed as her career, they drive a decent car, go on holidays, have all the latest gadgets like Xboxes and stuff, and we are working full time, have no quality of life at all, struggle to make ends meet .... and to top it all off she doesnt look after the kids. They are always riddled with lice when they come to us ( and i mean riddled!!!!), her last husband ( she is on number 3 now) actually threatened my partner little girl up against the wall with his fist ( and yes we did report it to socia services who said they couldnt do anything until something happened!),,and to top it off she has now requested that my partner sign a step parental responsibilty agreement so that if anything happened to her the children would stay with her now husband. If he doesnt sign it, which he doesnt want to following her previous choice in men, the way we understand it, she can just get the court to order one anyway.
and the worst part of it all is that because we are working for a living, we cant get any legal help with costs what so ever....
it is so unfair and the people that are really suffering in this are the kids. The little girl wants to come with us. She is nearly 12 and ive been told that once she is, the court has to take her wishes into consideration, so we may be able to do something about that.
we are just so trapped and I am so scared about what he is going to do, i really think that he is only a hairs breadth from cracking.
sorry for moaning:EasterBun ...what more do I need to say?!

"They are always riddled with lice when they come to us ( and i mean riddled!!!!),"
Shucks! I've heard everything now...
Perhaps it would be nits...nice... if NACSA Chair puts in an appearance on these forums now and again...I know she reads the Fora.0 -
Just been made aware of this post, and forum - so will put it onto my list to keep a regular check on.
Ok, as for your situation - sounds like there may be an Interim maintenance assessment in place, which could be inflating the debt. That's the first thing you need to be checking. Its also possible that other assessments are not accurate if they have not taken into account the children that you have - which again needs checking.
If the NRP is self employed, he gains himself a little breathing space whilst such checks are made - but if he is PAYE employed, he needs to work quickly to prevent a DEO being imposed.
As a subscriber to NACSA we can most certainly work with you to check, verify and calculate how much these assessments should be and what debt is likely to be outstanding. And indeed £40 can be difficult to find, but we do offer the payment in instalments by standing order if that is of help?

LOL...told you about all this ages ago. Mr GG is here too.:T And it is rather busy here, but we don't get much flaming..unlike other open forums.
As for me, I rarely bother posting anymore on any fora...0 -
I know - people keep telling me about these sites, and then i go to register, then forget, and then cant find the sites again!!! but someone showed me how to keep the links on my toolbars, so i have them all lined up now so that i dont lose any :j
Hopefully i shall be able to keep popping my head in every few days now...sorry Mr GG for having to take the load...i also notice Kelloggs on here - Hi!!!!0 -
It will be great to see you here, M.

I will try to talk him into it today.
He isnt self employed no he works as a prison officer and all honesty once the payents kick in, its unlikely he wil be able to afford to go to work.
He has to travel an hour to get to work, we cant move because I work an hour in the opposite direction and unfortunately the area we live in means that the employment prospects consist of cutting cabbages for a living,,so we are both very lucky to be in half decent jobs.
I just dont know what we are going to do.
the assessments are without a doubt wrong, the CSA wouldnt even listen when he phoned them to try and explain that we have two babies. and he spent a year out of work staying at home with them.
right , Im going to go and take the bull by the horns and join, and at least then as soon as the membeship comes through he can get to work in trying to sort this mess out.
God, Im not a nasty person but for the first time in my life, I wish that damn woman dead. she doesnt deserve the beautiful children that she was blessed with. Sorry ( for being horrible but I mean it so I cant take it back!):EasterBun ...what more do I need to say?!
