Well done TallGirl, we knew you could do it. It doesn't seem like four months (I hope that is the same for you)

Thank you very kind no it doesn't feel like that long it's actually 5 months from the day I left to I start new one but I've had three weeks holiday and did get a weeks notice so I'll say it's actually four.

Well done on all the savings amounts and good luck with the job hunting Lolly88. I don't know what field you're in or where you live but agencies are a right pain never got anywhere with them. Glad you were able to quit rather than have to stick with a job that makes you feel like that.

#186 reporting £803.52 saved this month! Extremely (and pleasantly) surprised at this month - I was more frugal than I thought :j

SF - I've backdated a few changes via the google form as I miscalculated originally :o

Year total to date: £7078.94 :j I'm holding on to the hope that I can reach the 12K target by the end of the year - it may be more realistically more like 10-11K...

I have still saved nothing at all. But I certainly meant to save this year. All is not lost. We still have another four months to try to save something.

Three weeks off, a nice break abroad, then back to part time flexible retirement knowing I can walk out at any time! I'm also going back to university at 60 to to a part time course in a subject I've always wanted to study.

So with half pay and a pension, and no additional pension contributions to pay, I'm hoping I'll be working half the time for twice my current take home pay. I'm slightly anxious I've horribly miscalculated though

I can only stress to the younger people on this thread how important it is to sort your pension out as early as possible and then to pay extra as soon as you can. I know it's difficult in the early years of a mortgage, young family etc. and when retirement seems an eternity away. But honestly, the decades fly past so quickly and by the time you think of retirement, it can be too late to do much about it then.

I know I sound such an old gimmer! :o

It being payday I have finally caught up. Just saved enough to bring my savings to£7k for the year so far. Am hoping to get ahead in August.
Spend less now, work less later.

Pretty clear I have no chance of making my target now unless all bookies suddenly replace all their staff :/ even then the odds would be low

No 44 reporting in with a mixed month. I saved £750 this month. £500 RS, £250 SS. But I lent £2,000 to a close family member in need.
So that is £5,350 towards my target of £7,500.
