    #25 update for June

£797.04 saved in June against my target of £520 making my savings YTD of £710. I can finally put a positive number in my signature :j. It's a slightly false month because I have postponed a tyre change and service from June into July so next month may even that gain out.

    Happy Saving :).
You should pay attention to the needs of the moment - otherwise there is no future. But to ignore the future is foolish - living solely for the moment leaves nothing for when the next moment arrives.

  • Minus £2400 this month!

This was due to decorating including new wood floor and carpet and new lights. It was three and a half grand including labour which seems ridiculous for a hallway/stairs. It's not like spending that on a sitting room or bathroom where you really enjoy the difference its made.

I will be moving the telly and sofa into the hallway in order to fully appreciate all the effort and cost. :D

Of all areas in houses, this is the most difficult, fiddly and expensive, just because of all the awkward bits and pieces. I remember painting all the finials on a staircase at a previous house. The wallpaper was absolutely the worst bit and that sounds like good value to me, compared to my potential grumpy-o-meter if I had done it myself! ;)

  • Thanks, Suffolk Lass, that makes me feel better! You're quite right about the hall/stairs being the most fiddly :)
