Do people only add up the money that they saving but not spending for the year?
I will be saving for travelling in the first few months of the year and then a house deposit for the rest of the year, which is long term. Should I add the travelling saving even though it'll be spent this year or wait for the long term?0 -

Either I wouldn't include the travel money, or I would include it but then deduct it when it's spent. It's implicit that the amount you have saved over the year is the same number as the increase in your savings from 1 Jan to 31 Dec. That said, you do you - nothing bad will happen if you do the challenge your way!0 -

Ernie has been kind to me this month - so £75 straight in the savings pot. With Christmas pressie money and a bit of interest from other accounts that's £314.40 for me.
Happy savings everyone.0 -
I am going to join in. I've been focussing on getting rid of a mortgage which we did last year, then getting straight. Now have a plan to deal with 2nd mortgage - but - I also need to sort savings. And so, deep breath, sign me up for £12,000. No idea how that will happen at this point but I am sure I will come up with something !Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!0 -

Put aside £557.28 towards this challenge today! Good early morning start:)
This was the £440 I am committed to saving/investing each month plus £75 Ebay sales and £42.28 in my Tilly Tidy Up pot.
Loving the Tilly Tidy up thing - quite addictive to keep creating this pleasing 0s and 5s at the en: of each day on each account....
Do I change my signature myself or wait to fill in the form at the end of the month?0 -
Can I be added to the list? £20k for me please.... slightly cheeky as I've already got £10k of it
but I want to motivate myself to hang onto that £10k !!
I've got a plan so cunning you could put a tail on it and call it a weasel.0 -
