I have a couple of Christmas money gifts that I want to pay into a new savings account. Anyone got any good ideas about which account to go for. Thanks in advance.

Current accounts pay better interest than savings at the mo, but you are limited how much you can save and some require you to pay in so much a month (though you can take it out straight after ! :D)

TSB pays 5% but you have to pay in £500 pm, and Tesco 3%.

  • Many thanks for the information on TSB. As a new customer I think I should qualify for the higher rate and say Wentthedaywell I can set up a standing order to pay £500 in and then straight out again. I have a TSB near me - so I can pop in and check. Many thanks.
