connecting to virgin media rules

hi,
we already have the telephone and we may be wanting the broadband under their 2 for £20 offer. however in the details it mentions something to do with virgin mobile. well we dont want a virgin mobile. so the question is if we dont take up the virgin mobile part will we not qualify for the 2 for £20 offer on the home phone and broadband?

    thanks.
while i wouldnt be surprised i did think it would be silly of them to make people get a virgin mobile. the reason i got worried is because in the terms it says something about having to take up everything in the offer to get the two for £20.

Just gone through Virgin and found this...

    BB Size M - Unlimited broadband up to 2Mb = £18

TV Size M - Over 35 channels includes Virgin Central, E4, Film4 and UKTV = free

Phone Size XL - Talk Unlimited - Free anytime UK calls = £20.95

    Total monthly cost = £38.95

    Installatioon = £15 (including £10 online discount)

    Not competitive for me.

arent they the seperate prices? they have offers of two packages for £20 or three for £30.
i will check out that link.
    edit.
also we are restricted because when i see ads for broadband from other companies they always say in small print at the bottom that they require a bt phone line. we dont have a bt phone line. we only have the cable line. we never had a phone before cable came round our area in 1997. the really ridiculous thing is we have a sky box and that is connected to the phoneline but even sky say the line must be bt to get their broadband.

If you go for the 2 for £20 deal and upgrade the phone package to XL it will be £27.95 total .

bt are cheaper are they? they never used to be. i remember they used to charge over £100 for installation and a massive amount compared to cable for the phone line. that is why we have never had bt.

I just meant for me comparing like with like

darwin-rover - re TV freebies, point taken, I had meant give away items like laptop from BT and AOL tho
  • my bills used to be as follow:-

    BT phone/internet £75 a month

sky tv £50 (2 boxes) - £80 when bt exchange wouldnt allow boxes to ringback to sky

    02 £120 a month

so we took virgins "4 for £40" option with a few extras

result? we now pay 25% of what we paid before.

    and the broadband is faster
