Also why didn't they write down the statements/replies I was making to their questions if they intend to prosecute??

They'll probably just make it up later.

Any how it's just a waiting game to see if you get a postal charge now.
  • Very weird, report it to the police and check if they have an unmarked car of the description of the car they were in. As above a woman in Glenrothes got stopped by a plain car with lights and drove away when she got suspicious.

If this was going anywhere, you'd have been given paperwork at the scene.

IF (and it's a big if) they really were Police, then they were putting the wind up you. No more than that.

What do you base that opinion on?

There's no requirement to give any paperwork.
  • Doesnt sound like real police to me.

Go to local station and report it.

Because they couldn't use it in evidence unless they'd cautioned you.
  • If they were real police officers while they followed you they would have done a Police National Computer check (PNC) on the vehicle which means there would be a record. They would also have shown you a warrant card.

Was it a marked car? If it was unmarked and they weren't wearing uniforms are you obliged to stop? I'd read on pepipoo that you aren't

It all sounds very dodgy to me. Talk to the police and see if they can shed any light on it.

On a slightly different note: you got off a train at 5.42 pm and used the car to get from the station to your home. That sounds to me as though you are using the car to commute to work. If it's a Motability car in your Dad's name and you are a named driver, then either your Dad must be in the car with you, or you are driving the car specifically for his benefit. It's not just a free car for anyone in the family to drive about in. The terms of the Motability agreement are quite clear - going to the shops to fetch his prescriptions would be classed as for the disabled person's benefit, but using it to commute to work on your own would not. You are risking losing your Dad's entitlement to the car.

If I have made wrong assumptions here, I apologise.
If someone is nice to you but rude to the waiter, they are not a nice person.

Someone upset your misusing a mobility vehicle?
