Stopped by police...

Sounds odd. I would expect a police officer in plain clothes in the circumstances to show his/her warrant card without being asked.
I'm inclined to agree with mparter and make enquiries at the local police station whether this was a genuine stop or not. It dosn't sound like they have followed the correct protocol either if they intend to "report" you for any offences you may of committed.
Please keep us posted.
They just came up to me like two strangers, it was all rather odd.
And then not even telling me exactly what the summons is for or what evidence they have.
I was just listening and being polite trying to make sense of what I had done.
Yes I think what you and mparter said I'll talk to the local police station to see if they were genuine.0 -

Did you give your dads address ? And what kind of car is it ?
This could be a scam of them marking cars to steal, then you giving details of where it will be parked etc.
And if they were charging you the 100% would have given you a verbal dialogue explaining why and what happens next.
I'd go to my local police station as soon as possible, this sounds very weird ! And they would have done a license check on you 100% !!0 -

It was a vw golf, few years old, I did give dads address.
Yes I did think the lack of licence check was weird
The only verbal explanation was a court summons was coming my way.0 -

No it completely slipped my mind.0 -
Very strange ! Go get it checked out for peace of mind. But I honestly think it is not the police who stopped you.
