  • Hi everyone

Well another sfd as dd paid for our breakfast out, so that's 6 now.

Dolly My dds are very sensible with money and one has already bought a couple of things to enhance their lives ie a second bigger car and a holiday home the others are still thinking about what to get. I decided to keep a bit back for me and its enough but I still find it difficult to use it, giving it to girls made me very happy.

Tomorrow should be a sfd and I will plan the next couple of days menu. Not a lot planned this week so I think the house will have a really good clean and some crafting will be done/attempted.

Hope you feel better soon, FBOz x

Have been awake here since 5.45 - stupid time on a Sunday morning! Gave in at 6.20 at got up - have sore throat and definite snuffly nose - have been invigilating Y11 exams this week and most of the lads are full of colds, so am sure I'm getting one too. Have 2 more days of invigilating this week. Also have hair appointment tomorrow (last cut back in June, so I'm not exactly an excessive spender in that category!! :D)

DS3 has a party to go to today - am hoping OH will take him as I don't fancy 2 hours of noisy 7 and 8 year olds. Also means I can prep dinner, bake rolls, do ironing... none of which he will do and all of which need doing today.

Am so looking forward to school finishing on Friday - then it's hunkering down time for Xmas! :) I was talking to a friend and her husband yesterday about presents - they don't buy each other anything - but then go shopping on Boxing Day and spend lots (getting more for their money in their view) - my idea of hell! I would rather have one or two smaller presents on Xmas day which I like/ want and that's it. I don't really need anything, I admit - hence why I know my presents this year are things like smellies, face cream, cushions for our new sofas, socks (I do need more socks) - and hopefully a pair of purple leather gloves I've been lusting after! :D (not all of those items are from OH!) I have spent a lot on OH this year (new ipod touch after his was stolen - but I did get money off) but that's unusual.

Time to check in - no NSD's since my last post. Friday night was my work Xmas do, budgeted £25, spent £22. Really enjoyed it and had a great time. Yesterday I was horse riding, also did the last of my Xmas shopping and picked up a few bits I needed in town.

Today isn't supposed to be a NSD. I'm volunteering all morning then supposed to go to a friend's birthday drinks later (I'll be driving so cheap night) but woke up this morning to see he'd cancelled the event on fb, so could be a NSD after all? We shall see.

seasidegal - that's a nice amount of cashback.

I bought DH's Christmas present yesterday so I am totally done now. Also spent some of the grocery budget on lunch things and snacks for the weekend.

Hey everybody. I'm dangling on 3 NSDs so far. Today should be one.

Trying to decide between a walk and Christmas tree dressing today. I'm not sure my OH will cope with both! :p

Edit: ooh should add I skipped my office party. I felt so relieved not going. Money not spent on buses and taxis there and home was devoted instead to some far more practical new boots ( mine are warm and sturdy, but full of holes, and they are moulded walking boots so can't get them repaired :()
    Keep reading books!
August grocery challenge budget £150, £90.14 spent in total - £59.86 remaining.
  • All our friends went home yesterday so just C and I here for the next week. No NSDs but. I suppose that's to be expected when you're on holiday. Still not spent much, though. Local pub was selling spice mixes for its famous goulash in aid of Macmillan Nurses so we've brought three. Theirs is delicious. Hope I can do it as well. Having a quiet day today. Last week was a bit hectic.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.

  • Been busy for last few days - last check in was Monday - naughty EE!!

As previously mentioned Tues was not a NSD as had a meal out with work, I put £20 in for my meal and drinks as had to leave before the others and got £5 back the next day at work.

Weds was a NSD taking me up to 3 so far - naughty EE!!

Thurs was a spend day as had the allotment social meet up so spent on drinks at the pub.

Fri was a spend day, got some food and also went to village panto - paid for tickets on the night and brought raffle tickets. Excellent panto and all done by local adults and children.

Yesterday was a spend day as collected son from Uni and brought drinks for journey and had lunch out before I drove home. Had another xmas meal with relative, no money needed as he paid and he had got us raffle tickets.

Today is a spend day as brought some xmas presents online and also need to get some food shopping as DS working for 10days and will be staying at my mums and we provide the packed lunch stuff.

Next week will be much better as no planned outings and should increase my NSD's - some xmas presents still to buy but will do all on one day next week sometime.

I am in awe at the energy some of you have for going out! I am finding it hard to be bothered this year. I even said 'no' to our work cmas do back in June when the money for it was collected. Am soooo glad I did. (My reason being that we might need the £20 come December - and yes, we do - and also that last year, the place messed up my main course and my pud, so I felt like ignoring them this year, putting on my best grown-up mature attitude!)

Am up to about 8 NSD, have made about £160 from Christmas crafty fairs and have just 3 more workday get-ups.
