We can only go by what you have said on here op. None of us are mind readers and it was big leap from child friendly working practices to sexual harassment and instant dismissal.
I'm sure the advice and posts would have been more helpful to you with a fuller picture of what was actually going on.0 -

Can someone please tell me what PPR'd means?
It means posting privileges removed.0 -
Sorry but I don't believe it either. You can be dismissed for no reason at all if employed under 2 years, but it sounds from the first post that he was there longer.
After 2 years, anyone would be foolish to dismiss anyone without an investigation as totally leaving you open to being taken to court. Suspended, yes, dismissed, I doubt it. Seems quite an amazing coincidence that OP posting pictures of whatever else triggered dismissal without hours.
I also can't believe that a Managing Director having to deal with dismissing a senior colleague when staffing is already an issue would find the time and inclination to immediately agree to change someone's contracted time within hours. I would have thought he had much more important matters to prioritised and certainly would rather delegate this task to whoever is going to step into the role of the dismissed person.
As for this comment, don't know what to say. Surely as a mum for children over the age of 10, the most friendly hours are 9 to 5 Monday to Friday and I would have thought there were many jobs offering such hours?Funny really as the government want single mums back out to work but are not providing child friendly hours and the situation seems to be getting worst.0 -
Firstly I never mentioned the sexual harassment because that was already in hand and being dealt with
Secondly I just wanted a bit of advice in the other issues
Thirdly I have nothing to do with why sangie595 has been removed.
This boards are hear to office advice not abuse.
Also yes people can get instantly dismissed without s full investigation if other issues have been raised and their actions are classed as gross misconduct. Unfortunately this man was already on a warning and a lot more women came forward after my complaint so it was all looked into very very quickly!
Try and be kind on these boards and don't be so quick to bully and abuse people who are asking for help!
Just to finish and for those skating me for looking for child friendly hours I am not expecting any employer to provide hours to suit me like 10 til 3 I was happy to do two late shift a week or to compromise and share the late hours with other staff which is what was agreed.
So you phoned this morning, then lots of women then found out and all came forward and it was investigated with him being sacked, all within 2-3 hours. Busy morning! Don't buy it, sorry0 -

Just a reminder not to discuss PPRd users please, it's not fair on them as they aren't able to respond if comments are made about them.
As a note we really don't like removing peoples' posting privileges, we want people on here, helping other members save money
A PPR of a long term forum user is very much either a last resort after several contacts with them about their posts (polite request, yellow card, red card, permanent ban) or an immediate action for a grossly inappropriate forum post.
Thank you
I think the forum team is overzealous in their enforcement.
In a bid to 'keep the forum friendly', the team seems to believe that no-one should ever 'be offended'.
The reality is, you've banned a member who provided accurate advice (far better than both CAB and ACAS) for free on here.
Well done...0 -
Has the pharmacist being stealing vigra or falsifying the CD register on top of everything else?
I am sure this will be removed in minutes as it's amazing how fast certain things can be reacted to, when others cannot. It's so nice of the forum team to be concerned about my ability to defend myself. Especially since they do not allow people the right to defend themselves against bans.ScorpiondeRooftrouser wrote: »I noticed she got a post removed for criticising someone who said Jo Cox deserved to be murdered for helping immigrants, yet you left the post she complained about up. Have you removed that one yet or is that not the sort of thing you consider inappropriate?
You are correct. I have been banned for two weeks for my response to that poster who said that Jo Cox deserved to be murdered. I said he was scum and I stand by it. And the reason I am telling you this is because they can stuff their two weeks ban. If people get banned for standing up to racists of this ilk - when their posts remain and they can continue to post - then MSE stands for nothing. My principles are such that I cannot support an organisation that peddles this sort of trash with the defence that "we don't moderate posts ", but bans posters for nothing. The test of offensive on this site is simple - it's been reported so it is offensive. No judgement involved. So I have taken my services elsewhere. Shame, but I was warned about MSE by others - it seems that the owners are more interested in their income than their moral behaviours.
Bye folks
BTW. To instantly dismiss a pharmacist without due process not only breaches the law, it also breaches the industry codes, which would result in an investigation into the employer and possible suspension of their license pending the outcome. Which would shut down every branch in the country, even if it were the size of Boots. And I'm amazed at where all these harassed women came from when there were only two employees!0 -
Sorry to hear what happened Sangie. I called someone scum once and just got a warning. No logic applied at all.0

Please don't go Sangie0

I have just reported MSE Andrea's post for being insulting to the intelligence.0

I'm very sorry to see you go. This place will be much poorer without your contributions.
If I read you correctly the poster responsible was the one who recently ranted about a job advert in Romanian, only to be shown the same job was advertised in English but that didn't suit his agenda like the rest of his contributions and threads.
I admire the stand you've taken.
I wouldn't worry about the Walter Mitty story of this thread, its pretty much an irrelevance.Originally Posted by shortcrust
