I don't believe a word of that.
You've mentioned nothing of any abuse or harassment, and they're not going to dismiss a manager without some kind of investigation.
I'm sorry the answers didn't tell you what you wanted to hear, but this response makes absolutely no sense. And if this user is a reason for Sangies PPR then that's a seriously bad call
Couldn't agree more.
Pity about Sangie as well.
Any company worth its salt would have completed an investigation first.
Of course the OP may have got more child friendly hours but I can hardly see it being a happy environment to work in given her actions.0 -
I plucked up the courage first thing this morning to ring the managing director of the complany and explained everything. I also sent pictures I had taken over the months and recording of conversations I had taken over the months. I am pleased to say I have just had a phone call saying this managed has been instantly dismissed on grounds of Mal practice and sexual harassment and the company have offered me more child friendly hours.
I would like to thank everyone for the kind and helpful messages I received but to the last few posts that were put on which were very immature and negative to those people I would like to say shame on you!
My advice to anyone else in here who experience difficulties at work your mobile phone is a great tool! Make sure you use it to take photos, videos and record conversations! Don't let ignorant and abusives members of management get away with bullying, harassment and inappropriate behaviour. There are laws out there to protect employees from such behaviour you just need to make sure you have the evidence.
what...the....f.........
I can only ask, if this is true, what was in the pictures and the recordings? And whatever it was, seeing as it was hugely more significant than your moan about your working hours, why on earth didn't you mention it?0 -
That's very true!!! But I'm a nice hard working person and always have been. Guess this is a big lesson in life for me and like you all say I need to leave. However as a single mum there doesn't seem to be any child friendly jobs out there. Funny really as the government want single mums back out to work but are not providing child friendly hours and the situation seems to be getting worst. They say there are more rights for employees but there are not I'm afraid :-(
unfortunately, one ofthe problems is that nearly eveyone anting part time hours to fit around children wants the *same* part time hours, so while employers can do their best to be flexible around the needs of parents (or others with caring responsibilities) they can't always accommodate everyone. For instance, my company ties very hard to be famly friendly but we need the office to be manned from 9-5. We probably have about twice as many people here in the mrnigns as the afternoons as most of the part time staff work until 2.30 or 3 to fit around school times.
If we had another person request those hours tomorrow we probably couldn't agre, as we do have minimum staffing requirements. And tryinto find part time staff who want to / are willingto wok (say) 2-5 is very difficult.
Arguably it might be easier if schools started to offer more variable hours, but that would of course create its own issues. All posts are my personal opinion, not formal advice Always get proper, professional advice (particularly about anything legal!)0 -
Very odd outcome, like a previous poster said, not sure I believe it...hmmm...
Can someone please tell me what PPR'd means?0 -

I think it means that the account has been suspended by MSE - sometimes its a permanent suspension but can be temporary0 -

Well at least you know what job it is you can do from home, Fiction writer0 -
thank you - im a newbie to lurking and posting so wasnt sure.
That is a pity as Sangie's replies always seem the most helpful/constructive especially in this board.0 -
Oh dear, what a lot of nonsense this thread turned out to be. There's no way a pharmacist was instantly dismissed a couple of hours after a complaint was made.0

What a massive misjudgement by the op. Even in the best possible light and assuming that the rest is true they will never be believed now and they've shut off any helpful advice from these forums. Why do that op?
If sangie has been banned as a result of this thread then I hope that's put right asap.0 -

Well, unless the photos and recordings showed something pretty appalling whhich they didn't deny. What photos though? All they claimed was that their requests for flexible working were turned down. You can't have photos of that.
The only way this could work is if the manager has been doing something wildly wrong for a while which the OP has been secretly recording (and of course didn't mention in their previous posts). They have then waited until the manager turned down their flexible working request to go and complain about it.
It's unlikely, and it would reflect appallingly badly on the OP if true. It is possible though. Although I would agree it's very probably nonsense.0
