Welcome Redshank. I finally got home at 8.45 pm, having eaten and drunk nothing since breakfast except one cup of water. Why do they make it so difficult for patients' relatives? Only a grotty drinks vending machine in the A&E waiting area, and a half mile walk down the other end of the hospital's "main street" to the cafe which only serves "proper" food at lunchtime.

Tell me about it! At the moment we have to go down 5 floors...at least on the cancer ward at the other hospital we can access the coffee trolley (I knew we were in trouble when we could get free drinks).
Fill in a patients comments card/raise it with the patients committe. I took a flask and a picnic this weekend. But when it's an emergency admission that's not even an option. We have a minimum 1 hour drive, refreshments are needed!. Hope he improves soon.

Obvs I am awake at silly o click. On the plus side just put a washload on:cool:

    Morning ladies

Sorry to hear your DH was admitted to horse-piddle Iona. Sending squishy hugs xxx Let me know if I can help in any way.

Hugs to for Valli and sis...what you're going through is utterly dreadful. I can't even begin to imagine how hard things are for you :(

Redshank and ATB - what are these Shopkins creatures you speak of? Surely they can't be worse than Lego to step upon? :rotfl:

I'm still reeling from several quotes received yesterday for plastering and wall building. Decisions made though, so negotiating hat on today.

Oh and I must go to the tip...

Morning flyladies. Hugs Iona and Valli especially.

Me and the dogs have had breakfast and I've washed the dishes. About to take a quick look at what I can do from the list in the 30 mins before I start the paid stuff.

    Have a great day everyone.

Had a look in the freezer, have been able to plan 14 meals.
    Cupboard under sink now tidy.

Crikey ionafan that sounds scary! Hope the abs do their stuff quickly xx

Hope you managed to get a little sleep, Valli xx

Day at home today, is anyone else completely unproductive without the heating on. I've flicked the switch again in the hope it will get me moving. When the house is cooler I just want to go to bed! But I don't really want the heating on all day...

Ah well, at least I'll get some stuff done today!

    Away with the fairies
  • Really huge hugs to Iona and Valli. Sending you both lots of love and light xx

    Dizzy
    - google them, they are truly hideous little things. DD loves them, though I can't for the life in me figure out the point of them!

I have managed to make a huge pot of soup this morning, and drop DD at school. DS is home with me today, and has already done a number 2 on the carpet.... I take back what I said yesterday about potty training going well!

I am impatiently waiting to turn my calendar to December, this month has been utterly rotten and I cannot wait to roll into a new month.

Bossy - my heating is on, it's faaaar too cold here to consider it being off.

Right, I'm off to look at our bank account and cry (at least I can laugh about it now, baby steps etc etc)

Big hugs to you all xx

Welcome, Redshank! Even doing 5 mintues tidying makes a difference.

(((hugs))) Valli, and (((hugs))) for Ionafan and your DH. Sorry about the flare up LW; I hope it calms down really soon and you get a booking. Shower-fixed vibes heading your way, Narco. Ours was out of action for weeks recently and it irritated me every time I thought about it.

Bossy, I'll admit to putting the heating on because I'm sick to death of being cold during the winter. I no longer feel guilty about it even when we don't have lodgers here and since we decided that we're at the age when we can justify it, lodgers have commented on how comfortable the house feels as a place to stay. We're both here all day pretty much every day, otherwise I'd think differently. I've been cold every winter for my entire adult life and I've had enough of it. Best decision I've made this year and OH is more than happy to go along with it. We don't wander around in teeshirts; we've got three layers on and slippers, the heating isn't set high, just comfortable.

I had a bit of a hissy fit this morning. My office is driving me mad, nothing seems to be straightforward and I seem to be wading through treacle at the moment. I think I just needed to blow off steam. On the plus side I've decluttered and tidied a drawer that was a shambles, made decisions about things that I'd been deferring, sorted out a recycling bag of stuff for the scrap store, cleared the crud out of the middle of my office, piled up some nice stuff for the CS and raked the woodchips off the grass under the apple tree. I think I may sort another stack for the CS and then go and do that delivery and the scrapstore. I NEED to get stuff out of this house. I'm drowning in gibble.
    Better is good enough.

What a productive morning HB, well done you. I hope your mind feels a bit clearer for it x

    Hi everyone!
I have been missing in action for a very long time because of major life changes. Health issues mean that housework is tough and I plan to get back into flying as a little bit every day is the only way I can cope. I always found it easier when I was joining in with flylady as it feels like I have company.

That's another day without me writing a single word of my assignment. With all the hospital visiting in the coming week, I can see myself asking for an extension to the deadline :(
I don't sing. Not since the lupus destroyed my voice; but we currently have a Genesis CD on, and Mr LW is dusting the lounge. :A
Iona I should think they ought to grant you an extension, given the circumstances; I do hope your DH will be ok and fit to return home very soon. I know the hassle of hospital visiting; thankfully I only had to do it for 4 days; and some very kind people assisted me with my wheelchair.

More coping vibes coming Valli's way also.

Sorry to hear about your flare-up LW and hope you soon recovered. Fingers xd for you that you soon get some more bookings
'Tis stress that's brought this one on methinks. The new dog care company work differently from the old one in that I have to do a "meet'n'greet" visit with dog and owner to ensure that we're all happy for the dog to come to me; and covering for the fact that I'm terrified rather saps my strength. I had one on Sunday - which has, I'm pleased to say, resulted in a 3-day booking in late December :T - and I have another this afternoon, though this time we're looking several months ahead for the dog's actual holiday. Dratted social phobia. *rolls eyes*

O! M!! G!!! I just Googled Shopkins - never again will I complain about stepping on a rope tuggy toy in my bare feet. :rotfl:

ETA - Where are my manners? Jellie welcome home.:o
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
