quick note regarding the WII query...
If you do manage to get it through argos you'll get a £10 gift voucher.
Been reeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaallllllllllllllllyyyyyyyyyy bad lately but going to po and get myself a flask and a blender and start bringing soup in for work...I'm just so dis-organized I make things so difficult for myself...
Day 1 will be tomorrow to accompany my return to aerobics (I'm sure it'll hurt) after many weeks of enjoyable social distractions

Delly, have you found something to amuse you yet? I've been occupying myself with my menu planning, got a sneaky feeling you've done yours already though?
bails - yep I did find something to occupy myself. I went next door to the shop and bought a newspaper I never usually buy and deciphered from reading the articles whether it has a Labour/Tory slant. I LOVE doing that. It really bugs my FIL when he comes to my house and finds the Express/ Mail/ Guardian/ Times and starts to tell me off. I just love to lecture him on not being a discerning enough reader to work out the newspapers bias and make his own decisions based on that.
Of course, while I was out the hospital phoned to tell me that Useless would be ready to be collected at 12 (typical). After I picked him up, we went back to bed. Unfortunately neither one of us was fit enough for any earth shattering moves:o .
As for the menu plan, yes, I've mine done since Monday. We've been quite skint in the past couple of months with OH being off on the sick and because of my op our groceries (takeaway) bill has been quite high. Menu planning is definitely a great way to economise.Goal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.0 -
Hi again!
Having not long come across the "lose weight" thread I have ploughed through many of your posts.
You are all an inspiration!!
Some of you have lost loads and must have some great advice to give the rest of us.
Can i ask you all - how many of you are using WW or SW or "going it alone"?
How much support do you get apart from classes and family ?- from my point of view i dont get much support, I dont have much family - OH isnt all that encouraging and as he is slim and fit he always seems to have the munchies which is so tempting!
Where exactly are the recipes you mention? - I made leek and potato soup once - it was truly awful so could do with a new recipe!
Anyway, thanks for all your support so far. At last I feel as if I am not alone and that if I have any problems you all would put me on the right track.
Bails - I will let you know how i am tomorrow!! When i asked the instructor at the gym for some advice with regards to setting up some of the equipment i mentioned that i was a bit stiff - he said that I could be like this for a couple of weeks! ( planning on going twice a week) Now thats something to look forward to!!
Do you think that aquafit as well would be a good idea?
Thanks!0 -

Nope, no scrabble this afternoon, - just dreams about work _pale_ and a pain in my side (from the operation..... ).
He's grand, he's got an inflamed stomach from high stomach acid (takes it from his mother - what can I say!:rotfl: ). And I'm sloooowwwwwwllllyyy getting better.
ajax - I'm not surprised to find that you're going back to counting points. It did seem to suit you didn't it ? Of course WW is very generous to the menfolk! It shouldn't be too difficult for you to point up your OH's SW menus, they're already very healthy options.
As for soup, still haven't got my second batch made. OH want's leek & potato this time. I think I'll make it tomorrow. I have a whole heap of this.which needs attacked with this:
. I'll get that done first I think (well as much as I can anyway)

Wilroda,
On the first page of this thread is a post with lots of links in it. one of them is the recipes thread. There is a massive range of diet plans being followed (or as in my case mainly ignored) and I think the support networks vary just as much...The only consistent factor there si this thread so stick with us...
I've done aquafit before and it is a huge giggle and will also help you recover from the gym sessions...don't give up hope you'll be surprised how quickly you'll improve if you go regularly...do you record your activity anywhere?
I'm lucky with my gym as they have a program that does it for you but there are lots of other sites where you can log your hours youself and figure out how many calories you're burning etc....keeping a record will also help you notice how you're improving.0 -
