Should I end it....

But were these intelligent scientist forced to do the work they did? I think they probably were. Yes, there will always be exceptions, but in general, intolerance is a sign of low intelligence.
Yes this guy was a victim and forced to do these things....

Don't turn this thread into a debate regarding the validity of organised religion; it will go on for years, and achieve nothing.
OP: If you have to ask a forum whether or not you should end your relationship, the answer is probably 'yes'.0 -
84% of people in the world have faith.
A meaningless statistic, and in no way equivalent to "84% of people in the world".
Most people in the world are illiterate peasants so any argumentum ad populum based on the world population is even more dubious than most.
And you have failed to grasp the distinction between median and mean. It is perfectly possible for 84% of the population to be of below average intelligence, assuming that "average" means the mean (as it usually does). They'd have to be really stupid for the maths to work, but believing in gay-bashing sky fairies is a good start on that.
(Apologies for my error regarding the OP's gender, the rest of my post still stands.)0 -

That's fine. If you believe that people who have faith are below average intelligence then who am I to argue?0 -
I think you really have to consider if you wish to live with this situation for the rest of your life.
I know that if my partner was not able to put me first, at all times, then I would not be willing to stay with them.0 -
The difference is you had to put up with your mother in law. The OP's never met hers and I doubt she ever will.
Whether the OP gets to meet her or not she will still be an overbearing dominant force in her son's life. This will greatly impact the OP's life too.I think you really have to consider if you wish to live with this situation for the rest of your life.

I agree. My MIL was an awful woman, not just to me, but also to OH and just about every she ever knew or met. Thankfully OH stood up to her and would always take my side. Eventually though he decided to have no contact with herThe world is over 4 billion years old and yet you somehow managed to exist at the same time as David Bowie0 -
It depends on how religious he is. Does he drink alcohol? Does he pray? If he prays then I'd be very cautious, the muslim view is any child born to a muslim father is automatically muslim (you won't like the punishment for your children leaving Islam). I wouldn't want my kids going to some nuthouse every week having their mind transformed by some nutter wanting the end of days to arrive.
It's a legit deal breaker, why would it not be? People don't date people because of lots of reasons. Lots of good restaurants aren't halal, pork is deliciousYou wouldn't have a date with someone because they come from a Muslim background?
Yes, yes it does. And always sad to see some atheist suddenly "finding God" on their deathbed, wishful thinking much.Just because someone is very devout does not make them stupid.
Pointless stat as 90% of self-identifying Christians aren't even Christian. I say I am a lion, although I have no mane and no tail, am I still a lion? Most Christians never read the bible in full and pick & choose what they deem relevant for them simply to suit their lifestyles84% of people in the world have faith.Mortgage (Nov 15): £79,950 | Mortgage (May 19): £71,754 | Mortgage (Sep 22): £0

Yes it does. Tolerance is a sign of intelligence. Intolerance is a sign of low intelligence.
I am tolerant of religious people as long as they don't affect my life. Unfortunately, fanatically religious people feel that only they are correct and have to impose their views on everyone else.
You are coming across as very, very intolerant and bigoted on this thread.0 -

It worries me you define a lion by having a mane and a tail.
Sounds like you don't really respect anything but a male lion. With that sort of 1960's attitude you wouldn't fit in with the lion prides of the 21st century.0
