Advice on buying the wrong house

I'm not saying every where should be silence. But it would be nice to just be able to sit in your living room and be able to relax with out hearing the almighty bangs from the kids next door playing up stairs. I'm no way being snobby about this. Ive lived in semi detached all my life and never really heard the neighbours. Just the odd bang here and there. Now I've moved here and it's the odd seconds of silence here and there.
I once had a similar noise "issue" with a neighbours child - always making very loud noises at all times of the day. It used to be frustrating until we found out that he had severe autism and learning difficulties. His mum used to worry sick that we could hear everything.
The noise remained but was never an issue again for the next 5 years we lived there - in fact we grew quite fond of it, especially after we had our own children.
Speak to your neighbours - there may be more to it than you think. Even if there isn't, children go through phases of making noise and it will likely pass soon.0
