Can anyone help? I've made a lentil recipe fom this forum but have added too many spices therefore it burns the mouth off you!
Anyone any ideas to calm this down?
Thanks0 -
Sure!
Add any dairy product. Milk, cream, cheese.... any one of them will take the edge off spices.
DO NOT drink water if a meal is too hot! Either drink milk, or nibble bread thickly covered with butter (not marge) between bites.Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. Coconut milk is good for taking the heat out of spicey food.
You can buy it in a block (so you cut of as much as you need) or in a tin. I prefere the block it lasts alot longer.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4.............................NCFC member No: 00005.........

I've found sugar to be the best counter to heat in a recipe. I heard from an asian friend to put sugar on your tongue if there is too much heat, and it works better than anything else i've tried. You'll need to use couple tbls at a time in the recipe and then try it.There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.0

Add a couple of teaspoons full of plain yoghurt it will take the hit out of it, but I can't say what it may do for its appearance but definately worth trying to rescue it for the price of a pot of yoghurt, this works with any pepper/chilli based dish by the way.Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0
