Alot has definitely been going on! I sorted out my grandads appointments yesterday and will keep on top of things. Although I see vulnerable elderly people in my job alot it never occured to me how vulnerable my grandad was until one day a person/couple of people he knew took advantage. It was a big eye opener that no one knew about. He made me tear up yesterday. About 8 years ago we both went on a part world cruise for 27 days... it was amazing albeit we both did our own things. I was only 16 at the time and going off myself and doing things and exploring (places like Hawaii, Samoa, Tonga, New Zealand, Australia etc). But he sat there yesterday talking to the boy saying how he's too old to take him somewhere on holiday and how he's sorry he couldn't. It was just sweet. The boy behaved really well whilst we were in the appointment and makes me very proud. He's so polite and helpful.
The buttermilk chicken recipe turned out really well. I made the alternative buttermilk myself with 1 cup of milk/one tablespoon of lemon juice and added in all the spices/flavours. I'll find the recipe and post it later. When cooked the chicken was really juicy and soft. The boy thoroughly enjoyed it and even asked for more so it's definitely one to cook more often. I'll try attach a picture if I can somehow. We had it with chips and beans. Felt a bit like a takeaway.
I'm definitely going to look into the switching banks service. And I'll feed what savings I have into the fixed year account it has to make it worth it.
This morning I've been chilling out and done my hair and makeup. I'm feeling good about myself and my self esteem is pretty okay. I'm off to my friends shortly and we will go walk her dog. This gets me out the house and some exercise for the day lol.
In regards to exercise. I've been talking with a friend. We have a 24 hour gym here which is £12.99 a month and no contract. I'm actually thinking of joining so I have some "me" time and people keep telling me it will make me feel better. I'd probably most likely go in the evening and set aside the time with friend and have a catch up. It will also help with losing the inches.
I've also been pondering over traveling a bit. The boy & I are going away for two weeks in May. Since he's been born I've never been away on holiday without him. There is so much I want to do and see. I've been speaking with said friend about maybe doing some short city breaks (find bargain/use cashback websites) throughout year and other travel. The boys dad regularly goes away (6 times last year, so I figure why don't I?).
I think it would be beneficial to me in the long run. I could make this work. Although I'll still save/pay off car, I'm in no rush for anything such as buying my own place that's more long term (5 year goal).
I'm 24, single and independent. My only responsibility is the boy. All his needs are catered for and more. I need to concentrate on myself now too. I need to find my true happiness in myself.
I'm feeling pretty optimistic about life right at this moment.
24 hour gyms are good after say 7-8 pm they usually quieten right down which is great if you want too train in peace. Even just doing say 30 mins on a running machine walking on a slight incline will do boat loads for pleasure/feel good hormone release 2-3 days a week.
You know the state i was in a few months back i take nothing now i run outdoors 3 days a week and weight train in a gym 2-3 days a week. I did train at a 24hour gym in newcastle The Gym but hated it as it was in basement not nice too train in a basement after a ten hour night shift.
Have a look at these Chandlier these are all good gym chains train at lifestyle fitness now and they are really good no idiots.

Scott,
I've not long been back from the gym. First time there today and thoroughly enjoyed it. It's definitely done something for me in regards to a boost of the feel good hormones. It wasn't overly busy and I managed to do 25 mins on treadmill (mix of walking/jogging) and then did some weight training for another 20 mins. So although not overly long at the gym it was enough for me. I'll take a look at those links though.
In regards to my medication, it's made a massive difference to me so for now I shall continue to take it. I can only dream of the day I no longer will need this. Hopefully when my life is more settled. One of my big issues is too much energy/hyperactivity. I figure the gym maybe the solution I need for this. The gym is in our town centre and you get two hours free parking. I'm going to set up some playlists on Spot1fy (I don't pay for this, I dont mind the ads so if anyone had any suggestions music wise, feel free to share.
So far today is a NSD. After the gym I've had a long soak in the bath and I'm due to pick the boy up shortly. My friend is coming round tonight for homemade pizza and a movie. I'll find a recipe on tinterweb for the pizza dough and use what's in cupboard.
I've just made an overpayment of £28.32 off the loan. I'll definitely update totals properly later at some point and see where i stand properly.
We are due a food shop. We haven't had a proper food shop for two weeks now apart from picking up milk and bread. I think I'm going to set myself a vegetable challenge (try one new veg each week for next four weeks). I've weighed and measured myself. I'm going to jot in down in my diary and re measure in the future.
After I've picked the boy up he has his extra curricular from half four until six. Then his nanny is picking him up and taking him to a party he's been invited too. It seems to be a very busy day. Tomorrow morning he has football then I'm not sure what else we will do. I may message a friend to see if she wants to meet up with kids. Anything to keep myself busy.
One of my other friends has asked me to do her makeup next weekend. I love doing makeup on other people. Sometimes I think about doing a short course in it, just for fun. However I can just use YouTube tutorials that are out there.
I want to pay a visit to local meat place and buy some meat in bulk (good prices/good value). I'll then batch cook some meals and freeze for stores.
I think I'm going to slice myself an apple up and have some cheese with it that's left over in the fridge. Random.
Current budget looking rather tight for rest of month. I keep getting small tax rebates so placing these aside just incase. Ideally I'd like to get loan balance to below £2k by end of month. It's possibly doable. I just need to rejig some and cutback in some places.
Hope everyone has a great day.Chandelier.

That chicken looks fantastic! I would love the recipe if you have time to post it.
I'm glad you were ble to join the gym, unfortunately the ones in the links Scott posted are nowhere close to me. There is only one gym in our town, maybe that's why they feel they can charge what they do:(0 -

Scott, if you don't mind me asking.. What dosage were you finally on before going cold turkey? They do indeed do wonders for my sleep. However I have about 1837393 alarms that wake me up each day. I'm back on Tuesday for review with consultant then another beginning of Feb. I'd say I don't feel as many mixed states anymore. It's more increased energy and hyperactivity now that is the issue and feeling more wired. I still have my down moments but at the moment the highs are taking over.
Misty, I will post the recipe later when I get on the laptop. Last night I made homemade pizza and garlic bread from scratch for me and my friend - I'll post a picture later and the recipe for the dough which was amazing- No fancy ingredients.. I never realised there was a gym so cheap. It's just opened. It's the same company Scott previously mentioned 'the Gym' but it is so open and spacious and suits me to a tee. I'm going there after lunch with my friend again. I'll probably just do a bit of treadmill/exercise bike etc. Yesterday it left me feeling wonderful and a big boost. Maybe this is just what I need. My mum will watch the boy today and she seems to be happy I'm doing this and encouraging.
This morning we've had football.. Usually I go with my friend but her son has been ill so I went by myself (this is a big step for me as I'd usually avoid) and took a little wordsearch book to complete some wordsearches and my own coffee in thermal mug. I then sat and pondered for about 20 minutes and just let my mind wander where it choose.
I had a really good catch up with friend last night. We've discussed doing some things for ourselves. We are both at a point where we want to do more and see more. We've already nailed a day out for Monday. We are going to venture to Skipton.
Skipton is a place I used to have many fond memories and visit regularly with an ex boyfriend for days out. I'd always felt at peace and rest there wandering around and doing as I please. When the relationship ended, my passion for the town went. I often felt I wanted to go but couldn't because I was plagued my previous memories. Sad really. But I feel ready to revisit and rediscover. We will probably do some windowshopping, have a coffee and cake and go for walks. The fresh air will do us good.
I'm off to the gym now. My head is clear.
I'll update later more.:rotfl:Chandelier.

I was initially on 200 then i went upto 400mg but 400 i couldnt handle i slept scary amounts and like you it was a ten alarm thing too wake me up. Eventually i got dropped too 300 but i still was not any better in mood i just slept less. I went cold turkey at that dose but i literally in that same week started running 4 days a week which kept my mood right up.Cashback Earnings YTD £46.04 Survey Earnings YTD £182.66

Scott I'm currently on 500mg. I was on 300mg but then titrated up once again to 400mg then 500mg. I have to say I've noticed a big difference in moods but more like no longer 'mixed affective state'. I'm more hyper at this moment in time and want to do lots of things. Exercise is helping and giving me a different sort of feeling. I'll only know long term how beneficial this is once I stick to a good routine. I don't want to become obsessed and over do it.
I guess I can only see what is said in next couple of reviews with consultant. I am trying to make small changes in my life. I just need to rememeber its for the long term, not short term.
At the moment I want to get back to work. However I've to wait until all necessary appointments/reviews are over. We'll most likely look at a different shift pattern for me and cut my hours down. Finances are having impact whilst being off, but I'm trying not to worry. My savings are there just in case. It's what they are there for. I just need to remind myself that.
Yesterday was a bit of a spendy day. I brought myself a new pair of leggings, t-shirt and hooded top. £20 spent there so not too bad and my wardrobe is looking bare. A while back I threw a load of things that no longer fit out.
Today is a day of rest, until I meet with my friend later.
I'll try get on laptop and post recipes for buttermilk chicken.Chandelier.
