I've been Money Tipped! Debt-free and Proud!
Im waiting for the bills to go out tomorrow to see where we are financially.

Same here! I thought it would update today, but still not updated!
I do think I've been quite good, not spending much..but I'll have to wait and see what Natwest days once it's updated! :rotfl:

Hope you had a lovely Christmas!
  • Thanks i hope youve had a lovely Christmas too!

Well i know whats in the bank but havent done any maths yet, ive been busy pulling the decs down. It looks lovely here now :j

Ive just seen that the hsbc advance account is offering £200 for swapping which is great timing. The 1st d1rect account didnt happen because the xmas post slowed down my id getting to them and wasnt within 30 days. The first id sent was rejected because the person who signed it wasn't eligible to.
Im a bit worried now about another credit check, but ive got no plans of a house move and dont need to finance anything so i guess it wont make to much difference to me at the moment.
Still here..... but working on that!
  • Just spent £47.60 on some essentials.£2.40 left to spend this week of my £50 budget. I think this is ok for 2 adults and three children

Funny enough we've just opened FD accounts. What is the issue you've had? I wasn't quite sure. It might be worth double checking you haven't already been successful before going for another current account.

  • Hi bob, the first signed identification i sent wasnt good enough, basically the financial advisor who signed it wasnt authorised to do it. So i got someone else to sign the identification for me, and stuck it in the post. It took two weeks to get to them and be put on their system, due to Christmas post i think, by which time the 30 day limit had passed and i would have needed to reapply. Im disappointed but im not reapplying for it. I explained that id posted it within plenty of time but my only option was to go through the application again.

So today i spoke to hsbc about the new account, but as i already have an account with them im going to transfer all my dd's back to them, into that account. It'll save another credit check. Hsbc is the nearest bank to my home, its half an hour closer than nationwide who im with now, so it makes sense to have it all there.

Ah got you. I am surprised though, I didn't have to do anything like supply photo ID. Funny they'd make some customers do it and not others.

  • Oh really, im disappointed tbh. They've got such good reviews etc, but oh well....

Been for a run this morning, and realised how much ive eaten recently, so tomorrow is new year new me (again!! :rotfl:)

Ill be having a sober night tonight, we had a few drinks with friends last night.

Ive spent a bit much this weekend, ill see what the damage is on tuesday, but until then no spending hopefully!!

  • Happy new year

Me and dh are going out for the afternoon, its turned into an annual thing with friends, we will spend but its the only time we'll go out with them this year, so im going to be sensible but have fun :j

  • Ive just paid off £85 from my very act, this was interest free until April. The next instalment is due in Nov so ill pay that off slowly before then.

I realised yesterday that one of my credit cards interest free period ends in june and is for £1300.
This is what i need to pay off next!

Also ordered online food shop from siansbobs, to be delivered tomorrow. £43.
Still here..... but working on that!
  • Ive been a few days now without posting. Things are going well. Dh has been paid, and this covers our bills. This makes me relax a little although i still need my pay for food/petrol/childrens thing etc.

Ive started a new notebook with all the debts written in and all the months this year. So i can see what i need to pay next, when interest rates change and how much ive paid.
Still here..... but working on that!
