How to get new cabinet for broadband installed?

AndyPK,
Good point, but each 50Gb is around £50 from EE, (maybe a little more). The average family uses 290Gb per month - It means that I will have to pay about £300 per month to have what most people get for just £30? For that price, I can get a leased line - But I dont want to do that, because Its a 3 year commitment - and again, too expensive.
Swapping SIMs would also be problematic - I would forget!Eating Breakfast, Cycling or Moaning.0 -
The price of the survey is the price of the survey. You can't do any of that yourself.
For what it's going to cost, it would be cheaper to move.0 -

Though I appreciate that, its not viable to do that, having only been here for 5 months.
Where I get totally confused is the leased line people are offering me FREE installation and £360 per month (for 3 years) for a leased line (100Mb down, 10Mb up), so how can they do it and OpenReach cannot?Eating Breakfast, Cycling or Moaning.0 -

You'll find that it will likely be Openreach who install the leased line from whichever provider you chose.
Are you sure about the free installation? It usually comes with a caveat of being within a certain range of exisiting infrastructue. Is that £360 including VAT?
360 multiplied by 36 is not far shy of £13000. What you gonna do after those three years? You're then stuck paying hundreds of pounds a month. After 9 years you'd have paid almost 40 grand.0 -
OP your usage of 290GB seems high if not mainly due to family members' video streaming. Does your IT business involve running servers from your home? If so you could consider using a commercial server farm or cloud service instead. Much cheaper than trying to upgrade your line. Remote server management may consume little bandwidth especially if you choose your services wisely.0

Glennevis,
No it doesnt. I need a certain amount for business, then more for personal.
The 290Gb is an average UK family download amount.Eating Breakfast, Cycling or Moaning.0 -
