From the UK gov website
" Cryptosporidium is not killed by alcohol gels, hand sanitizers, disinfectant or standard bleach solutions "
The most effective way to kill crypto is to treat contaminated surfaces with a 3% hrdrogen peroxide.
This cleaning should include pools, guest rooms, bathrooms, public areas, kitchens, dining rooms etc.
When asked if this has been done at the hotel the relpy is the pool has been treated and filters changed.
I dont have a master degree in a revelant subject but I still seem to know more than you.
If you dont have any constructive advise relevant to the genuine question asked I suggest you go and troll someone else.
"Combination filtration and disinfection has a very high effectiveness in removing and killing Cryptosporidium when used with chlorine dioxide and an absolute less than or equal to 1 micron filter (NSF Standard 53 or 58 rated "cyst reduction / removal" filter)."0 -
I have visited this hotel 4 times with my family and friends, initially on friends' recommendations. I am a member of 2 FB groups, one very pro-hotel if you say anything anti-hotel you are removed) and one a support group for those suffering from Crypto. I think you face a tricky decision. Personally I would return to this hotel but can see why those whose families have suffered illnesses there are so vocal about letting others know. Hopefully if the pools are cleaned, and you take anti-bac hand gel for use during meal times you will be no more likely to fall ill there than anywhere but to be fully informed of everything that has happened is very useful. Sorry,. I can't offer any help re:your rights to cancel/change, though I understand others have been charged £50/adult to change.
FYI, for future bookings, we prefer to book flights and with the hotel directly which you pay on arrival/can cancel FOC if you need to.0 -

While there may be a Canadian organisation with these initials I'm pretty certain that the one referred to is the US Centers (sic) for Disease Control and Prevention. I don't question your qualifications or conclusions, but I'm a little surprised that you don't know this.

The most effective way to kill crypto is to treat contaminated surfaces with a 3% hrdrogen peroxide. Which is a deep clean, along with the filters as I suggested. and as leyland said above, chlorine is actually better as per their information above. PErhaps read a science book every once in while.

I think you'll find I said "deep clean". Nothing specified there. And your attitude stinks worse than the hotel.
And if you call me a troll again I will have this removed, and hopefully you banned.0 -

Why would I have assumed it was the US one, when the OP is in the UK? I'm a little surprised you think someone has intimate knowledge of every developed countries websites on infection, considering we never use a single one of them (our information is cascaded from the powers that be, who do indeed have this specific knowledge). Why you would think any lab tech would have this is literally beyond me.0 -

Well, you made the assumption that it was a Canadian organisation, so enlighten us as to what that is.
The US CDC is an extremely well known organisation, so if you are trained and/or working in the field it would seem reasonable that you would know of it - clearly you didn't and are now better informed as a result of this thread.0 -
You may have had/have a respectable job just a shame your manners on here does not reflect it0

Charming!DomRavioli wrote: »And I don't appreciate some internet troll throwing insults around - maybe you should have a long hard look in the mirror, as you words are always a reflection of who you are, not the person who gains your ire.
Maybe you should heed your own advice!0 -
