I've just pulled the most gorgeously smelly chocolatey muffins from the oven - must resist temptation until they've cooled down!
  • Hi has anyone any ideas what i can make with some apples i was kindly given. I have so far made LOADS of apple pies and apple crumbles and don't know what to do with the rest. They have been par cooked and frozen. Any tips would be gratefully accepted.

apple muffins, apple tart, apple sauce for pork, apple & butternut squash soup (yummy!!), give some to me in sympathy for burnt tongue as couldn't resist fresh-out-of-oven-temptation?
  • the apple muffins sound delicious Little Vics, thanks. However sorry to be a pain but do you have a recipee. Never made muffins in my life. is it just a basic sponge mixture? sorry to be thick.

yup - I just make a basic cake recipe (4oz sugar, 4oz marge, 4oz flour, 2 eggs, bit of baking powder) and fold the apple mix into it. Gorgeous with a bit of cinnemon sprinkled in too.
  • Thanks. i really appreciate that. This thread like so many others on here are helping me no end to achieve my OS money saving. Thanks to you all. x
