Hello!
I received by mistake a transfer from a company.
Im overdrawn on this account so impossible for me to refund.
This is not my money. The company reclaim the money and i accept this is a mistake. They made an enquiry to barclays to inform them this is a mistake.
The problem barclays force me to accept the money they dont want reject the transfer.
I ve no revenue so impossible to refund. They forced me to accept money to refund my overdraft even this is not mine.
WORST i know this company and i know this is not clean money. The same day i received the miney the same day i informed barclays the mistake.
This is about 1700 pounds.
Have i a solution to force them to refund??

Tell us the whole story and people might be able to help
Presumably you know who this company are so why would they have paid you that amount of money ?0 -
Hello!
Actually i have the same name than other client of them.
They contact me straight away and on my side i straigt away called the bank to reject the money but the money was already in there.
I dont want this money first because this is not mine and second i know this is illegal money (this company is not clean).
I informed barclays but they force me to use this money to refund my overdraft even this not mine and even they knows this is not clean money.
How can i force them to refund?0 -
This is all very suspicious. Either tell us the full story, or stop hoping for adviceI came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.0

If you know that the money is illegal, you must go straight to the Police. Tell Barclays as well. Be prepared that your account will get locked whilst the investigation is going on, and that it can take a long time for the investigation to conclude.0

Why this suspicious?
This is simple i worked long time ago with this company. I received money from them but i know they make illegal trade in internet. Anyway this is not my business just i dont want their money on my account.
Now i informed barclays this is not my money but they force me to keep this money! There are nothing strange on this story!0 -
Well you could pay off your overdraft and then Barclays will refund the company. Maybe you should budget better if you're overdrawn0

I think you're confusing things by saying the money is illegal and the company is not clean - it's irrelevant.
The key fact is that a company has sent a payment to your bank account in error.
So that company should contact their bank, and their bank will start a "credit payment recovery process".
The company should get their money back within 20 days.

You are less overdrawn now than you were before the funds came in.
You can't reject a payment into your account as such and telling Barclays to reject it is not going to achieve a lot.
Let them know it's not your money by all means but they are not forcing you to keep the money......when the sender follows the banks process, as edddy said in #9, and requests it from their bank they will be able to send the funds back. I'm not sure what you want Barclays to do.
If you are overdrawn and have no available funds then I would speak to the bank about that too and see if there is any help available for you and pop over to the DFW board and have a look at suggestions for getting out of your OD.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Budgeting & Bank Accounts, Credit Cards, Credit File & Ratings and Energy boards.
