Just made a small payment of £200 towards the mortgage for July.

Looking forward to our holidays soon in Birmingham and Windermere (weather looks good so far). Then we have a wee 2 night break in Hawick (near Scottish Borders) beginning of august with mother in law which hopefully will be good and of course a trip to Gretna green outlets on the way home.

Had to go and buy new clothes for son, as I didn’t think he had enough for the holiday and some things he had outgrown - now all stocked up and got them all in the sales which is a bonus.

Very well done on your payment to the mortgage.

Hope your holidays go well and the weather is kind to you all.

You seem to have an eye for bargains.

    Take care.

Just caught up on your diary. You have done so well with the extension and garden work and have got the mortgage down pretty fast. Sounds like you still have a great level of savings too! Congrats.

  • Well had a fantastic but busy on the go holiday to Birmingham. The kids loved it especially cadburys world on a museum nearby for Thursday. On Friday, we went on the bus into centre of Birmingham to Primark for some shopping. Son and husband went to the Disney cafe for a bit whilst we shopped. Then we went for walks about birmingham.and saw the markets etc.

Lake District was great. Did a few day trips of motor museum, train ride and then boat cruise. Had a few lazy days by the lodge as temps were really high. Then visited boness, Windermere. Went to Keswick for the day when market was on and visited the puzzling place - world of illusion - great. Found a fantastic place to eat by the lake in boness for dinner. On last day husband and kids did tree top assault course. Had a great holiday and would go back to the lakes to see other stuff after visiting a new city.

    All sounds fantastic. Well
    done.

Enjoy the rest of the holiday period.

    Take care.
  • Well getting ready for our wee 2 night break in hawick with mother in law. I think she is pretty excited about it. Can't wait and should be good. Booked dinner in a wee bar on a country road 10mins away for the Friday night. On Saturday will be popping into Gretna green outlets. I could get used to having quite a few breaks away.

Made an overpayment of £100 to the mortgage today as well as putting money into the savings, since I think hubbie is getting a bit worried about things at work and it might pan out in the housebuilding industry.  I am only doing small payments to the mortgage the now and will see if we make a larger amount to the mortgage later this year from the savings.

Saving a decent EF sounds a good call - perhaps consider topping up your energy account now.

Your time away past and planned sounds lovely.

  • Had a fantastic time away and everyone enjoyed it. Back to normality now but son is getting a bit bored now of the summer holidays - only got until next Tuesday to survive as we all return to school on Wednesday.

Have just arranged for us to sell stuff at a car park.boot at our local Tesco's this Saturday. Hopefully we can get rid of stuff we have in the loft and need to see what toys son does not want anymore.

Somehow we got a credit back from our energy company whilst we were on holiday, so that ment not much from us for spends of the wee holiday.
