Hi all. What a couple of days. Dad had a malignant growth removed from his neck 8 years ago and its all swelling up again, appointment with consultant booked. DS has no transport as the moped is in garage again but (hopefully) now fixed. We have been having to get him to work which is a nightmare. DH been to docs with wheeziness/chest pain. Chest scan booked for him. I forgot to deal with an important e-mail at work which wasn't disastrous but I felt bad about it. Oh and I forgot my purse this morning and was supposed to be going to the supermarket!
So, flying minimal here. Have just chucked a load of bedding/towels in. Going to do some paid stuff for a bit then DS will need picking up. Will take my purse and do some shopping on the way home.
Oh and atb I feel for you. DH is self employed and it has only happened to us once and it wasn't a huge amount. Hope it gets sorted quickly x0 -
Hope all will be well with your Dad, YL; must be really scary. x
Not much Flying happening here, although a large amount of fur has been decluttered from a RL black dog.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Pleased to report plumber turned up at 1pm so met friend for coffee and cake at 1.45. Shower now has its own stopcock to isolate it so only baths (or more gym to use their showers) until we hear from plumber's manager whether they will replace whole shower unit or just a part. I put WM on while plumber was there after he asked if anything else had been affected. I said "should there be" and he said there might. But 1 load washing now done and ok. DW regained composure and finishing cycle.
Part of a report done.
Mr N out with friends this eve so hope for either more reporting or maybe even some flying.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -
Afternoon all. Sounds a bit frantic on here. I have been busy with the paid stuff but that's now finished until Monday and I have NO plans for the weekend.
I'm hoping that DD will pop round and pick up some more washing to do for us as we won't have a new machine until Thursday. And I'm hoping that it stops raining (even snow would be better) so I can get out with my lovely doggies.
Right, best have a think about looking glamorous for DH's arrival home from work, perfect housewife and all that!Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Evening everyone,
From reading through the thread it seems many are having a stressful week! I hope the weekend is kinder to you all.
KatieCat - so sorry for your loss xx
Well, I have been a bad flylady this week !!!
In my defence I have had toothache for about a month, resulting in 4 appointments to try and resolve the issue. Having spent another hour there this morning it would appear that I am pain free! I know lots of people are dealing with much worse but it has really worn me down, so hopefully I can get back on it this week.
I have the whole day tomorrow so I will start at the top of the house and work my way down.
See you soon x0 -

Morning all. Up at silly o'clock as the dogs woke up early but think I may go back to bed in a little while. I wasn't ready to get up.
Will probably just potter today although I do need to buy dog food at some point.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Morning all
My lovely whirlwind goddaughter has gone home. I didn't get much done while she was here, but it was great to see herand she helped me to clear the lawn of more leaves that came down in Thursday's strong winds and fix up some bug boxes that have been sitting in the utility for months (goodbye mini-frog).
DH went to the respiratory clinic on Wednesday and has been told there is nothing wrong with his lungs. I am not surprised. That's two appointments decluttered this week, but two more bookings have come through for other things between now and mid-December
Today's plan:
- Lots more work on my essay this morning - only 2.5 hectic weeks to the deadline, and there's still the regular prep to be done as well
- Quick food shop this afternoon, or we'll have no breakfast tomorrow
- Mini self-pamper session (maybe with an hour of beauty sleep :rotfl:) for me later, and I must remember to trim DH's hair
- SW Charity Ball this evening, with James Bond theme :j I'm going as M (i.e. Judi Dench lookalike) in my £15 CS outfit, and DH has hired a dinner suit. Free drinks on arrival, casino, photos, glitter tattoos, raffle, meal, dancing ... should be good fun, and we're all hoping to raise ££££ for the local hospice0 -

*Staying pain-free vibes* heading your way NoTimeToSpare. Very disheartening and debilitating, pain.
Good to know your OH's lungs are tiptop Ionafan, and I hope the essay writing goes well. Enjoy your M impression evening.
Lawn raked late yesterday afternoon and another couple of bags of leaves stored for future use, Girl on a Train film decluttered with a friend (absolutely excellent, I have no idea why it's had such bad reviews) and fridge/freezer ordered. This is the first brand spanking new one I've ever had so I'm silly-excited about it being delivered on Monday. There will be a humungous amount of furniture being moved about and stuff being bunged on the bay of e and gumtwig today and tomorrow but it should all be worthwhile.
Lodgers in late last night and decluttered to rehearsals this morning. Lovely, lovely people who have been friends forever so it'll be a very happy house this week.Better is good enough.0 -
Hello again.
You'll make a brilliant M, Ionafan.
So since I last posted I have:
Gone back to bed for an hour
Scrubbed the kitchen sink with bleach
Taken the dogs for a long walk in the lovely sunshine
Ordered dog food online which was cheaper and will save me an additional trip out
Think I'll sit and catch up on some telly recordings next.Spend less now, work less later.0
