DS1s 18th birthday so lots of celebrating. No paid stuff and no flying. Normal service resumes tomorrow.
KatieKat this is a great place to offload if you are sad and upset - we can cope with stuff that you maybe cant say to loved ones. Sorry for your loss x0 -
Ridiculously busy. Parents eve again tonight, was PTA last night, I couldn't even THINK what to give you lot so went off piste a bit, and spent the time between home time and PTA last night re-sorting our educational visit, for 59 y1 and y2 kids that I had to cancel last week due to sudden closure. Other local schools are also reporting higher than normal numbers and children's hospital have a lockdown in place apparently. winter vomiting bug. Ugh.
In all this sis has been moved again due to post op problem. I *may* get to visit this w/e. And I have to go to the HUGE shopping centre by the M1 to spend this voucher before it runs out! Daughter has secured ace raffle prize from work for OTA raffle so that's good.
Katiecat huge hugs. This thread is stunningly supportive and someone will be here for you when you want to be heard.
I did some laundry. Oh and I put the bin out. I'm hoping to do CS this morning and buy some wheel covers.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Morning all
Katiekat my deepest condolences and lots of supporting hugs heading your way.
LY happy 18th to your ds1 hope he had a lovely day. It was my dd1s 30th yesterday, I actually managed to get one of her fave singers to tweet her a birthday request. That made me almost as ridiculously happy as it made her LOL down the pub with most of the family last night to celebrate with her and plan to do a food stuff meet up at the weekend.
Dizzy so glad you found your diamond-hope it can be set back in.
Iona my lovely you really are the nicest person and whatever you did or said would have been totally unintentional and well meaning. Please forgive yourself.
Valli hope the parents evenings go well, it's such a busy time of year at school in the run up to Christmas -make sure you factor in time for yourself and don't volunteer for too many extras. There are lots of other staff who can share the load.
Sorry if I've missed anyone, hugs good wishes post vibes sticks and spoons where needed.
If anyone is in contact with pigpen can they wish her well and pass on the hope that all her family are ok. She pops into my thoughts occasionally
Have a good day all, I'll play catch up later.SPC~12 ot 124

Happy birthday to YL's DS, and MrsMP's Dd x
Yesterday was a write off! Long dog walk, then off I drove for my riding lesson, which it turns out is actually today, not yesterday. Back to throw some lunch down, quick clean of kitchen, managed to break the tea bag jar and cut my hand. Grrrrrrrr. Then off to read at school, then homework enforcement, tea, kids to bed, rang mum, me to bed. Hmmmm. I really am having a clumsy and stupid time just now.
So today I have to myself. Here is my list.
Empty all the bins
Clear and wipe worktops and table
Strip all beds
Wm on
Hhi
10 min tidy and dust/ clean conservatory
Likewise living room
Likewise bathroom
Likewise kitchen
Likewise bedrooms
Another Hhi
Hoover whole house
Mop kitchen
Mop bathroom
Walk dog
Briwax new bathroom door
Horse riding lesson
Go swimming with girls
Have a macdoodies to celebrate being amazing!
Right. Off I go x0 -
Ooh Valli! It's bad enough being a parent at this time of year, being a teacher must be incredibly stressful. I actually really like your list today. I want to steam clean my windows and photograph and sell the last basket of clothes and dust my bedroom.
Submitted my metre readings so I'm hoping they will adjust my direct debit to a normal amount. They insist it should be £11 and it shouldn't and I won't have them pull me into debt.
Cleaned the counters, microwave and did the washing up this morning. Off to work soon, I finish at one and have left over leek and potato soup for lunch. Fingers crossed my chicken will be defrosted without having to use the microwave (defrost function), so I can make chicken casserole. And I might make brownies seen as though the oven will be on. My friend wants to make my tomato soup chocolate cake (I know!) for her son's birthday cake! So I have to write out the recipe before pick up time.0 -

Katiekat so sorry to hear your news, what a rough year - you must be feeling shell-shocked.
Sounds like everyone is busy at the moment, I'm rushing around and typing reports like a mad thing as there are exam deadlines next week.
Just about up to date on emails but task list getting longer.
After a week of whinging about headaches, earache, apparent hearing loss etc I gritted teeth and saw doc yesterday, luckily there was a cancellation so it was pretty much "can you be here in 45 mins". Got there early, straight in and came out with antibiotics for ear infection. Doc said it was like the glue ear that kids get - huh, something I always ask my students about as it often ends up on a dyslexic profile. No yucky detail but let's just say that my holiday cold/cough from Sept has been doing something in the background.
Anyway house a tip in many places but seems like the gradual years of declutter efforts are making it look a bit less terrible........
Have also had 2 eves out, so really looking forward to nothing planned for this eve, Mr N out tomorrow so I am having lunch with a friend after gym class and can then get lots of flying and report writing under control.
5 mice caught so far. Last night one tripped the trap but escaped!Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0
